Monterey Mosquito Control, manufactured by Monterey, is a fast and long-lasting insecticide that protects indoor areas for up 4 months and outdoor sites for 6 weeks.

Contains the active ingredient bifenthrin 0.3%, which is a synthetic derivative derived from chrysanthemum flowers for enhanced effectiveness against pest like aphids, mosquitoes, and ticks.

Monterey Mosquito Control easily controls indoor and outdoor pests while giving homeowners a peace of mind for not only the present, but also future activities.

Tools Needed

Monterey Mosquito Control may be applied with a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or backpack sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Mosquito Control to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To use tank-sprayer equipment like a handheld pump sprayer outdoors, use 1.5 fl. oz. (3 Tbs.) of Monterey Mosquito Control per gallon of water per 125 sq. ft. For indoor applications with a handheld pump 1 gallon sprayer, use 16 fl. oz. of product with 82 fl. oz. of clean tap water. For control of carpenter ants, spray 1.5 fl. oz. per gallon evenly over 65 sq. ft. Refer the label for specific rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: To fill a tank-like sprayer you will need to pour in half the amount of water. Next, add in the proper amount of Monterey Mosquito Control and the remaining half of water. Agitate the solution until mixed. For hose-end sprayers, add the proper amount of product then spray until the correct amount of water is added.
  • Step 3: Outdoors, thoroughly wet down grass a few hours before application when making lawn applications. Spray evenly over the measured area, treating the entire lawn. If you are using a hose-end sprayer set the dial to 1.5 fl. oz. To keep insects/pests from entering the house, use a hose-end or tank sprayer to spray a 2 foot band of soil around the house next to the foundation. Also spray the foundation of the house to a height of 2 feet. Indoors, make applications only as a spot or crack and crevice treatment. Hold sprayer 12 inches from surfaces being treated. Apply a 4 inch band along the surfaces being treated.

Where to Use

Monterey Mosquito Control can be used indoors and outdoors.

Outdoors, it may be applied to lawns, trees, shrubs, roses, home vegetable gardens, melons, fruit trees, ornamentals, and around house foundations.

This product may also be applied to indoor home surfaces such as on floors, floor coverings (rugs, carpets, tile, vinyl & wood) and baseboards, in cupboards, pantries, garages, basements or attics, around and under sinks, cabinets, stoves, refrigerators, and plumbing, and in cracks and crevices in walls.

When to Use

Make applications outdoors with Monterey Mosquito Control when temperatures are between 50 degrees Fahrenheit and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray in the early morning or late afternoon when it is cooler, if temperatures will exceed 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make sure lawns are no higher than 3 inches at the time of application.

Applications indoors should be done when people and pets are not present and when pest activity is first noticed.

Safety Information

Monterey Mosquito Control is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people and pets into the treated area until spray has dried.
