Monterey Dr. Iron, manufactured by Monterey, is a effective granular supplement that enhances the aesthetic appearance of lawns and plants by addressing iron deficiencies.

Iron is a vital component in plants, it helps to carry oxygen and other crucial elements throughout the circulatory system resulting in a strong, green foliage. Simply spread the Monterey Dr. Iron granules across the soil around desired vegetation for its active ingredients to eliminate any yellow coloration.

Monterey Dr. Iron is a controlled release supplement that helps not only to correct yellowing in plants, but also reduces soil pH. Additionally, its high sulfur content reduces conditions for fungal activity.

Tools Needed

To apply Monterey Dr. Iron, you will need either a rotary spreader, drop spreader, or handheld spreader.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Dr. Iron to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 3 1/2 lbs. of Monterey Dr. Iron per 1,000 sq. ft. of lawns, flowers, vegetables, ground covers, shrubs, etc. For potted plants in a 4-8" pot, use 2 teaspoons of product. Potted plants in 8-12" pots, apply 4 teaspoons of product. For trees and shrubs, use 1/2 to 1 cup of product to the soil beneath the trees or shrubs.
  • Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the proper ratio as instructed in its product manual guide or as stated on the label. Load the measured amount of Monterey Dr. Iron into the spreader.
  • Step 3: Apply the Monterey Dr. Iron to the top layer of soil until an even layer is created around the desired plant. Sweep any product that lands in the driveway, sidewalk, or street, back onto your lawn/garden. After application, perform a deep thorough watering to activate the granules and push it into the soil. Apply this product no more than 4 times per year.

Where to Use

Monterey Dr. Iron can be used on the soil in lawns, flowers, shrubs, vegetables, ground covers, potted plants, and the soil under trees and shrubs.

Do not apply near water, storm drains or drainage ditches.
