Milogranite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer, manufactured by Milorganite, is a eco-friendly granule fertilizer that can be used at any point of the year for enhanced and long-lasting greening within your properties foliage.
With its slow release capabilities, this non-burning fertilizer allows it to give turf and plants a lush, healthy green color and dense turf without the worry of burning your lawn.
Milogranite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer is very easy to use and does not need to be watered in, simply spread and let it go to work and soon you'll have a much better looking lawn.
Tools Needed
To use Milogranite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer, you will need the help of a lawn spreader, hand spreader, or a push spreader. We recommend a push spreader to broadcast the fertilizer most efficiently.
How to Use
- Step 1: Prior to product application, mow your lawn to its appropriate height and allow grass clippings to remain on the lawn. Grass clippings will help to recycle nutrients back into the soil. Determine how much Miloganite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To find this, measure the treatment areas length and width in feet then multiply (length X width = square footage). The application rate will vary per site. For Northern and Southern Lawns, apply 32 lbs. of Milorganite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer per 2,500 sq. ft. On new lawns, use 64 lbs. of product per 2,500 sq. ft. For established shrubs, apply 5 lbs. of product per 100 sq. ft. of soil surface. For established trees, use 5 lbs. of product per inch of trunk diameter. Spring annuals will use 1.5 lbs. (4 1/2 cups) of product per 50 sq. ft. Summer annuals will use 1 lb. (3 cups) of product per 50 sq. ft. Spring perennials use 2.5 lbs. (7 1/2 cups) of product per 50 sq. ft. Summer perennials will use 2.5 lbs. (7 1/2 cups) per 50 sq. ft. Established roses, apply 1 lb. (3 cup) of product per 50 sq. ft. Prior to planting vegetables use 4.5 (13 1/2 cups) of product per 50 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader based on its type. Refer to the product label for appropriate calibration settings. Once calibrated, load half the amount of proper amount of Miloganite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer into the spreader. Begin walking in the North and South direction. Apply the remainder of product walking in the East and West direction.
- Step 3: Water your treated areas immediately after application to reduct attraction of dogs. In case of product spillage, rake or sweep up the fertilizer and spread it over the lawn. Wash hands after use.
Where to Use
Milogranite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer can be used on both warm or cool season grasses on a home lawn. It can also be used on new lawns like seed beds or sodding or sprigging. Use this product as well around established trees, transplanted trees, established shrubs, transplanted shrubs, flower beds or containers for spring annuals, and summer annuals. Soil of flower beds for spring perennials and summer perennials. Around established roses and 4 to 6 weeks later of roses. You may also use on soil for vegetable planting.
Apply this product only to your lawn. Do not apply near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches. Avoid direct application to sleep stopes in areas that flood, on wetlands, or into surface water.
When to Use
Use Milorganite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer to fertilize your lawn at least four times a year to keep your lawn looking great all year round. An easy way to remember when to fertilize is using the "holiday schedule". For example, for warm season grass, apply a bag around Easter, then on Memorial Day, Labor Day in September and finally Early October. For cool-season grass apply first around Memorial Day at the end of May, around the 4th of July, then around Labor Day and finally around Thanksgiving.
FL, MD, and MD: Apply this product 2 times a year at the rate of 32 lbs. per 5,200 sq. ft. Florida residents will need to check with local county ordinances as to fertilizer blackout dates prior to application.
Do not apply when heavy rain is to be expected.
Safety Information
Milorganite All Purpose Slow-Release Fertilizer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
Some dogs are attracted to Milorganite. Consumption of large amounts may cause gastric irritation. After fertilizing, monitor your dog to determine interest. To reduce attraction, water after application and limit your dogs access for 24 hours.
