Within 3 to 5 days all fire ants and the queen will dies after ingesting the lethal ant bait, resulting in total fire ant colony elimination.
Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait provides extensive control of imported fire ants as far as 15 feet below the turf surface within 14 days at the smallest application rate, offering economical value.
Tools Needed
Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait can be applied with a broadcast spreader, an application tablespoon, or shaken out from the container.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure (in feet) the areas length and width then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). A broadcast treatment of Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait is 0.5 to 1.83 oz per 1,000 sq. ft. For individual mound treatments, use 2 to 5 tablespoons of product per mound. Do not exceed more than 4 applications per year.
- Step 2: Fill the spreader with the correct amount of Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait and adjust the spreader settings to ensure even distribution.
- Step 3: Walk around the perimeter of the lawn and work towards the middle, pushing the spreader at a steady pace. Two passes should be made of the area at a normal walking speed of 2.5 mph (100 ft. covered in 27 seconds).
- Step 4: When using Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait to treat individual mounds, broadcast 2 to 5 tablespoons of the granules in a circle about 4 or 5 feet in diameter with the mound being in the center of the circle.
- Step 5: Do not water the lawn for the next 24 hours, to ensure ants have had time to take the bait to the colony. Wait until 3 to 6 weeks have passed since the last application rate before reusing the product.

Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait can be applied outdoors to the turfgrass in home lawns, golf courses, commercial and recreational turf, adjacent landscaped beds (which only have adequate cover to prevent run-off and not on bare soil), and sodfarms.
