Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide is a fast-acting insecticide and miticide that kills a broad spectrum of pests, such as whiteflies, through ingestion or contact without harming desired ornamental and indoor plants.
09/21/25
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide, manufactured by Central Garden and Pet, is a professional insecticide and miticide that immediately controls a wide range of greenhouse and nursery pests and continues to repel these pests long after application.
Plants are usually more sensitive to pesticides when in bloom, so they are often not recommended. However, this water-based formulation is non-phytotoxic, so it can be safely used on various stages of listed plants, including when flowers are in bloom. In addition, the dry residue from Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide offers long residual control without harming or repelling honeybees.
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide has multiple flexible application rates against pests like aphids and more as needed while staying within a professional plant grower or residential ornamental landscape budget.
Tools Needed
To use Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide, you will need a pump sprayer, a hose-end sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a spray rig for large-volume applications. For smaller household jobs, we recommend using a 1-gallon hand pump sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Indoor ornamentals will use 0.5 to 0.25 of Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide per 2.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For greenhouse applications, mix 4 to 10 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water per 20,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse space. Outdoor perimeter treatments apply 0.2 to 0.5 fl. oz. of product per 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. It would be best to refer to the product label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water, then add the chemical. Fill the sprayer with the remaining amount of water, screw on the lid, and thoroughly agitated the sprayer.
- Step 3: Apply the product over the desired areas. Avoid applying to any impermeable surfaces to prevent runoff or drainage to a storm drain or source of water.
- Step 4: Allow the product to dry where applied, and keep all pets and people out of the treated areas until they’re dry. Depending on the level of infestation and your targeted pest, reapplication may be necessary in 1 to 2 weeks. Refer to the label for proper treatment and retreatment times.
Where to Use
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide can be applied to indoor plants in greenhouses, interior plantscapes, flowers, and foliage cuttings.
Outdoor plants in ornamental plantings, plantscapes (including trees, and shrubs), and containerized nursery stock may be treated with this product. It may also be used for perimeter treatments around buildings and outside surfaces.
When to Use
Mavrik should be applied during the first signs of pest activity before the pests can mature and populate. If the infestation is already established, a stronger concentration rate may be necessary. Refer to the label for instructions on your specific level of infestation.
Safety Information
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep unprotected people, children, and pets out of the treated area until the spray has dried. Some sensitive pets that eat or come in contact with freshly treated plants may demonstrate vomiting and respiratory distress.
Special Considerations
Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide is toxic to bees and other pollinating insects until completely dried. To prevent bees from harm, spray when foraging is low to prevent any pollinating insects from being exposed. Depending on the targeted pest and the area you intend to apply to, this product has some limitations.
