Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide
Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide is a versatile, fast-acting insecticide that manages a broad spectrum of insects across various settings, including turfgrass, ornamentals, and certain edible crops. It's known for its long-lasting residual of 12 weeks as a drench application and 3-4 weeks as a spray application.
10/12/25
Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide, manufactured by Nufarm, is an outstanding insecticide concentrate that combines fast knockdown and lasting residual activity against destructive residential and commercial pests.
This suspension concentrates systemic properties allows this product to be absorbed into plants and translocated throughout their tissues. This ensures that insects feeding on treated plants ingest the insecticide, leading to effective control. This mode of action is particularly beneficial for targeting pests like aphids, whiteflies, and leafminers that feed on plant sap.
Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide provides powerful and fast control over many key pests within several days, helping to prevent the establishment and spread of infestations. The extended residual control provided by this product means fewer applications are needed over a growing season. This not only conserves resources but also minimizes potential disruptions to beneficial insect populations.
Tools Needed
It may be applied by chemigation, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, divide the square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat turf and ornamentals, apply 0.46 to 0.6 fl. oz. of Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide per 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour the remaining half of the water into the tank. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: For foliar and broadcast applications, direct sprays to the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. For soil drench treatments, remove the plastic or any other barrier that will prevent the solution from reaching the root zone. Once this is done, apply the solution to the soil, allowing roots to absorb the insecticide for systemic distribution. If an application is made to established ornamental plants, irrigate them thoroughly after application.
Where to Use
Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide can be used in turfgrass (including sod farms), landscape ornamentals, on ornamental and fruit and nut trees, on ornamental and vegetable plants in greenhouses, nurseries, and interior plantscapes.
When to Use
Apply before or during pest infestations on days when rainfall or irrigation is expected to occur within 24 hours after application to move the active ingredient through the treatment area.
Safety Information
Mallet 2F T&O Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Cover crops for soil building or erosion control may be planted at any time, but do not graze or harvest for food or feed.
Keep children and pets off the treated area until dry.
Special Considerations
When making soil applications to plants with woody stems, systemic activity will be delayed until the active ingredient is translocated throughout the plant. In some cases, this translocation delay could take 60 days or longer. For this reason, applications must be made prior to anticipated pest infestation to achieve control.
