Krovar I DF
Krovar I DF
Krovar I DF herbicide is manufactured by Bayer and comes in dispersible granule form to be mixed in water and applied as a spray for selective control of weeds in citrus and for non-crop weed control. Krovar is able to successful manage many different annual weeds and can also treat perennial weeds.
Tools Needed
To use Krovar I DF Herbicide, you will need a backpack sprayer, hand-pump sprayer, power sprayer or spraying rig for large volume applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Krovar I DF you will need by calculating the area size. To get square footage, you will need to measure (in feet) the treatment area length and width and multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). To get acreage, take the square footage and divide by 43,560 (Square footage /43,560 = Acreage). Krovar I DF is be mixed at a rate of 6 to 16 lbs. per acre depending on the weed you are treating. For small area applications, 1/4th of a cup (2 oz.) can treat a 200 sq. ft. area. So for example, if you were treating a 1,400 sq. ft. area you would need 14 oz. or 1 and 3/4th cup of Krovar I DF mixed in a sufficient amount of water (minimum of 10 gallons per acre).
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water and begin agitation. Add Krovar I DF at the rate based on your weed type and calculated size of the treatment area and then fill with water the rest of the way, agitating throughout.
- Step 3: Once mixed, apply Krovar as a band or broadcast treatment around weeds you wish to kill beneath or between citrus trees or to bare ground. Reapply until the target weed has died completely.
Where to Use
Krovar I DF Herbicide is recommended for general weed control as follows: uncultivated nonagricultural areas (such as, airports, highway, railroad and utility rights-of-way, sewage disposal areas); uncultivated agricultural areas (non-crop producing, which includes: farmyards, fuel storage areas, fence rows, barrier strips); industrial sites (outdoor, such as, lumberyards, pipeline and tank farms)
When to Use
Apply Krovar I DF Herbicide as a pre-emergent spray prior to or during the rainy season when weeds are actively germinating or growing. Moisture is required to activate and move Krovar I DF Herbicide into the root zone of weeds for best results. It will not control weeds that have already emerged.
Safety Information
Krovar I DF is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Please put on the proper PPE (gloves, mask, goggles) when applying. Keep the product out of reach from children and do not apply to sensitive areas.
Special Considerations
All rates of Krovar I DF Herbicide applications on the label and on this page are expressed for broadcast treatments. For band treatments, use proportionately less.
