Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules

10/25/25
Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules, manufactured by Pennington, is a powerful bifenthrin-based insecticide granule that eliminate fire ants at the source, while also tackling fleas, ticks, and a broad range of other insects in turf, home perimeter, and ornamental flower garden.
Unlike sprays that only reach the surface, this product is designed with a soil-penetrating formula that gets deep into the ground where fire ants build their colonies. When applied properly and watered in, the granules kill fire ants and other listed pests on contact and through ingestion, providing both immediate relief and long-lasting protection.
Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules is an effective soil-penetrating granule formula that delivers exactly what homeowners need against various turf and ornamental pests. Each bag covers up to 8,300 sq. ft., making it cost-effective for both small yards and large properties.
Tools Needed
A push spreader or handheld spreader will be required.
You may also need a chemical-purpose tablespoon or teaspoons.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To control ants, use 1 tablespoon or 3 teaspoons of Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules per each mound. For lawns, home perimeter, ornamental and flower garden, apply 1.2 to 2.4 pounds of product over a 1,000 square feet area. For outdoor ornamental flower beds, use 1.2 lb. of product for every 500 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to the proper setting then load the needed amount of granules.
- Step 3: Spread the granules evenly over the lawn, landscape beds, or directly around fire ant mounds. Once applied, water the area with at least 0.1 to 0.5 inches of water. Repeat application as necessary only if there are signs of renewed insect activity. Repeat application must be limited to no more than once per seven days.
Where to Use
Knock Out Fire Ant Killer Plus Granules can be used on lawns, home perimeter, ornamental and flower gardens.
