Kalida Fungicide
Kalida Fungicide
Kalida Fungicide, manufactured by FMC, is a next-generation suspension-concentrate fungicide that safely combats a broad-spectrum of diseases in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turfgrass.
With the combined power of 2 unique active ingredients fluindapyr 20.9% and flutriafol 20.9%, they will combat harmful fungal pathogens like anthracnose, dollar spot, and leaf spot within 2 weeks.
Kalida Fungicide provides rapid uptake of product material for quick diseases control over multiple fungi on its own or may be used as an excellent option in a seasonal rotation program for difficult turf diseases.
Tools Needed
To use Kalida Fungicide, you will need a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a spray rig for large-volume applications. It may also be used with chemigation irrigation systems that are not connected to a public water source.
Do not apply Kalida fungicide through drip irrigation that is deeper than 12” below the soil surface.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Kalida Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat turf, you will apply 0.25 to 0.4 fl. oz. in 3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. or 11.5 to 17.3 fl. oz. of product in 43-87 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 4 applications per year.
- Step 2: To mix in standard ground application equipment like backpack sprayers, you will need to pour half the amount of water into the spray tank. Add the measured amount of Kalida Fungicide and then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and shake or run the agitator until the solution is well-mixed. For chemigation systems, you will need to mix the product in a separate container then pour into the system as instructed in the manual.
- Step 3: Set spray nozzles to deliver a fan-like pattern then spray the mixed Kalida Fungicide to the top and bottom of grass blades until wet, but not to the point of runoff.
Where to Use
Use Kalida Fungicide on turf in golf courses, in lawns and landscape areas around public, institutional, and commercial properties.
Not for use on residential turf, sod, or on athletic fields.
When to Use
Kalida Fungicide should be applied on turfgrass established from seed or in the overseeding of dormant turfgrass when soil temperatures are consistently between 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit 2 inches below the soil.
It may be safely applied before or after seeding or at seedling germination and emergence to ryegrass, bentgrass, bluegrass, fescue, and other turfgrasses.
Safety Information
Kalida Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not use clippings for animal feed.
Do not allow people or animals to enter treated areas until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Kalida Fungicide will require 2 preventative treatments for full diseases control on turf. Reapplication times will vary based on soil temperatures.
