Hex Pro Termite Baiting System
Hex Pro Termite Baiting System
The Hex Pro Termite Baiting System, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a in-ground monitoring and baiting system.
It allows for clean indication of termite activity, and the bait can be replaced as necessary with other cartridges.
Use these baiting stations around your home and business as a long-term method of identifying termite activity, and controlling them.
Tools Needed:
The Hex Pro baiting station does not come with bait,so it will need to be purchased separately. To be installed properly in the ground, you will need a drill and auger bit to drill a hole in the ground to place the monitoring station.
How to Use:
- Step 1: Identify which areas around the structure you wish to apply the termite stations. It may be helpful to mark these areas beforehand to get a good indication of how many stations you will need.
- Step 2: Drill a hole roughly 4-5 inches in diameter and 6-7 inches deep. Drill these hole 5 feet from the drip edge from the structure (5 feet from the roof's overhang). Make each hole 8-10 linear feet apart to make a good barrier to catch any activity.
- Step 3: Push the Hex Pro station into the hole so that only the top cap is above ground. This should allow you to mow over the stations without hitting them, as they should be flush with the ground.
- Step 4: Insert the monitoring cartridge into each bait station and securely close the cap.
- Step 5: Check the stations daily for any activity. If there has been activity, remove the monitoring cartridge and insert the bait cartridge instead. The termites will consume the bait and spread it around the colony, kill them and stopping the growth of the younger stages.
- Step 6: Repeat this process until the termite activity is completely gone. Continue to monitor for future activity if necessary.
Where to Use:
These stations can be used around your home or business. Insert them into your yard and the areas around your business in the instructed patter to creating a solid barrier for monitoring and treatment.
When to Use:
Begin the monitoring process as soon as you suspect termite activity. The sooner you begin the process the sooner the termites can be control and prevent or minimize any damage they may cause.
Safety Information:
These stations are safe to use, but the bait cartridges are treated with chemicals so it is necessary to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when using the bait cartridges.
Special Considerations:
These stations comes with wood monitoring packs, but requires the use of bait after activity has been observed for control.
