Gopher Getter Type 2
Gopher Getter Type 2
Gopher Getter Type 2, manufactured by Wilco Products, is an effective gopher bait and attractant which controls gophers with the help of a powerful active ingredient, Diphacinone.
Gopher Getter Type 2 comes within a milo grain formulation that's palatable to pocket gophers and will kill them within a few days as they continue to feed on it. You can dispense the product easily through a bait applicator or other methods of baiting like a hand probe or using a funnel.
Tools Needed
There are four application methods when using this product that may necessitate using a specific tool; bait applicator, hand probe, using a funnel or using a gopher getter midget.
How to Use
- Step 1: Using a pointed long metal probe once the gopher mound has been identified, create a small opening by sticking probe around the mound. Once the burrow has been penetrated and a deep opening has been created inside the burrow pull out the metal probe.
- Step 2: Using either a bait applicator, a scooping device, or a funnel, insert a 1/2 cup of the product as far inside as possible inside the burrow. Then close the opening with soil being careful not to cover the bait.
- Step 3: After bait has been applied, cover probe opening with sod or dirt. Do not permit dirt to sift in or cover bait. Repeat application if fresh mound appears after 2 to 3 weeks.
- Step 4: Using waterproof gloves, collect and burn (where permitted) or bury all visible dead animals. Dispose of leftover bait according to pesticide disposal on the product label.
Where to Use
Gopher Getter Type 2 is used to control pocket gophers in and bordering crops (alfalfa, forage, hay, vegetables, and grains), in rangelands, orchards, and non-crop areas (forestry, plantations, golf courses, lawns and other turf areas, level/ditch banks, nurseries, parks and around agricultural buildings).
When to Use
Use Gopher Getter Type 2 when you have discovered gopher activity. This can be indicated by seeing gophers themselves or the mounds they dig.
Safety Information
Gopher Getter Type 2 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Keep bait out of reach of children, pets or other unintended animals.
