Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator

Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator

Do you have a gopher problem? Are you experiencing reduced usable acreage due to pocket gophers? If you have a pocket gopher problem, gophers are not only feeding on the roots of your plants they are stuning plant growth and killing plants. Gophers are eating your profits.

Have you been seeking an effective way to place gopher bait underground inside burrows? Years of scientific research and testing have helped Scimetrics provide Kaput pocket gopher bait designed to help solve your problems with less risk to you and to wildlife.

Now applying gopher bait is made easier with Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicators. No special training is required for application. Read the label carefully and follow directions. Simply fill the bait holder and open the lever. The lever opens a door in the tip of the applicator. The bait slides down the tube and into the burrow, it's that simple!

Probe into the ground around the mounds. When the probe hits a tunnel it sinks in with a loss of resistence. To place bait into the burrow, open the lever for 2 to 3 seconds or rotate the lever 2 to 3 times. No matter what method you use, gophers will take most of the bait back to the nest. This will help control invading pocket gophers to take over the tunnels after the current inhabitants are eliminated.

The Kaput system reduces risk to birds and wildlife because it stays underground. You can do tests but be sure to cover any burrow you open. Kaput is a brand you can trust for gopher control. Order it today from us and we will ship it to you for free!

Did you know that Pocket Gophers are responsible for damage to hay and grain crops as well as to cherry, apple, pear, and filbert orchards? Pocket gophers are incredibly destructive in that they can inflict numerous losses of profits due to their feeding activities, which include root-clipping beneficial trees, and directly eating alfalfa crops and filbert nuts.

But that’s not all, their constant digging and rummaging underground translates to expensive losses of degraded crops, and soil and rock patches that could destroy and damage harvesting equipment.

These pests require special attention and a variety of methods to treat them efficiently, which luckily, we offer at Solutions Pest and Lawn.

In our store, you can find the best gopher poison baits (click here to buy gopher control products) in the market, that can be applied with Artificial Burrowing equipment, manually, or using gopher bait underground applicators.

Purchase Kaput Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator And Apply Bait Deep Where Gophers Live

Created by Kaput Scimetrics, you get quality rodent control products that have stood the test of time, and take into account more than 100 years of research and innovation, that have cemented this company as one of the leaders in reduced risk pesticides in rodent control.

This product is made and constructed from heavy-duty steel, which gives it added resistance and durability that should last a lifetime.

This intelligently designed product is simple to use, simply probe around mounds that have been freshly dug, and when the ground gives little resistance and applicator digs deep underground, you turn the handle to dispense the bait into the tunnels.

This product applies the bait directly into the tunnels and runways that pocket gophers create, and unlike manual applications, it has the benefit of creating an application that won’t disrupt their tunnels too much or create any type of bait aversion.

This product can hold up to 3.75 pounds of bait, for numerous applications around your yard or property.

The mode of action of the applicator allows for faster and easier baiting around your yard or property, simply probe the ground and release the bait with no need to dig to find existing tunnels.

Because this product only releases bait once its deep in the pocket gopher’s tunnels and runways, that means that less bait is wasted, and the danger of children or pets coming in contact with the product is completely reduced as the bait is only released deep underground.

This product can be used in and around homes, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and public buildings, near or bordering crops (alfalfa, forage, hay, vegetables, and grains), in rangelands, in orchards, and non-crop areas (forestry, plantations, golf courses, lawns and other turf areas including parks and around agricultural buildings.

Remember to always read the whole label, including instructions, precautions, and warnings, and always remember to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment stated on the label (click here to buy personal protective equipment).

To use this gopher bait applicator you will first need to acquire gopher bait, click here to browse our gopher baits. Remember to also read the whole label of the gopher bait you have chosen, including instructions, precautions, and warnings and use the right protective equipment when handling the bait.

Before beginning your gopher hunt you must first identify the gopher mounds as gopher mounds and not as mole mounds. Gopher mounds are different than mole mounds in that they are fan-sized and often times kidney shape or horseshoe-shaped, unlike mole mounds that tend to be circular.

Gopher mounds do not have surface tunnels like mole mounds but instead have deep lateral tunnels underground. Also, gopher mounds tend to be plugged with soil to keep intruders out.

Once you have correctly identified the gopher mound, you’ll want to load your Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator with bait. Remember to wear protective equipment when handling the bait, and when loading into the applicator. Make sure to keep bait away from your eyes and skin.

To load the Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator you’ll want to pull out and up on the latch located on the loading lid, once the lid has been opened pour about 3.75 pounds of bait. Remember to dispose of any bait that falls on the ground, as it can prove deadly to livestock and non-target animals.  After pouring the bait close the lid making sure the latch is back in place.

With applicator loaded you’ll want to stand in front of your pocket gopher mounds, standing in front of the plug move back about 6 to 10 inches, and start probing the ground.

You’ll know that you have found a tunnel if the ground below you gives off little resistance and the applicator sinks deep underground, even deeper than other places where you probed the ground. Once you have found the tunnel or runway and applicator has sunk deep into the ground, you’ll want to rotate the handle twice from left to right to dispense of the bait underground.

When you turn the handle from left to right, the tip of the Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator will open up and the bait that was previously loaded will fall around the tunnel ensuring only the pocket gophers will get to the bait. Once you turn the handle from right to left, the opening found at the tip of the applicator will close, and no more bait will be dispensed.

Apply bait in five places for each mound using this method, but remember not to exceed the maximum amount recommended per acre, or per application,  stated on the label of the pocket gopher bait you have chosen.

The Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator is the safest and most efficient way to safely apply gopher bait to tunnels and runways.

It’s easy to use and ensures that each application is done underground and out of harm’s way from pets, children, or threatened and endangered wildlife.

Constructed from heavy-duty steel, this gopher bait applicator should last a lifetime of gopher bait applications and treatments.

It holds almost 4 pounds of gopher bait, and it might the only way to ensure that gopher bait gets distributed where it matters, in their tunnels

Order your Kaput-D Big Boy Gopher Bait Applicator Today! And properly treat your lawn, farm, or garden with pocket gopher bait that will eliminate their population.

The new bait requires 1/2 cup how much does the tool release?
A shopper on Jun 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I can't tell you an exact amount but it releases an amount based on how far you open the release. I bought a 10 pound bucket of bait and filled up the entire container. I have only refilled the container once and have more than half the bucket left.
How long is the probe? I mean how deep does the applicator go to reach the deeper gopher burrows ?
Michael O on Mar 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will reach the tunnel. You don't go into the mound, you go around the edge of the mound until the probe goes down easily, that will be the tunnel. Then you try to follow the tunnel to deliver more bait.
How much bait does the hopper hold?
How wide is hopper opening where you pour bait into?
cynthia l on Nov 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Big Boy will hold 3lbs of product and is 4 inches long and 3 inches wide on the hopper.
does this applicator come with bait?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. Bait is sold separately.
After depositing the bait, when you remove the probe, do you leave the probe hole open or do you fill it? Just the hole the probe makes?
Bill S on Jul 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You would want to cover the hole up.
Is it made in the USA?
Ben on May 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the Kaput-D Big Boy is manufactured in the United States.
How do you know you're in the hole without digging? Did you find this tool effective?
sandy on Jan 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Are you asking how you know if you are in the gopher run?
These holes will be plugged with soil after the gopher is done feeding at a location. Look for fresh, plugged "feeder holes" with grass or other plants chewed or eaten around perimeter of hole.
