Genus Spectra Fly Light
Genus Spectra Fly Light is a full-size professional fly light designed to lure and capture flies in sensitive areas like restaurants and food prep sites. Easy to set up and easy to service.
09/25/25
The Genus Spectra Fly Trap, manufactured by Brandenburg, is a great professional fly light for trapping various fly species.
This modern product utilizes two 36-watt bulbs for 72 watts of UV light, providing a faster catch and wider coverage. The Genus Spectra Fly Light is perfect for food handling and food service areas where spraying insecticide chemicals is discouraged.
The Genus Spectra is thin, at just 2.7 inches wide, and can be installed vertically, horizontally, or in corners. It is great for supermarkets, restaurants, food processing plants, office buildings, hotels, and more.
Tools Needed
No tools are required to set up the Genus Spectra Fly Light, but you may need basic tools (e.g., a screwdriver) to mount it on a wall.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mount the Genus Spectra Fly Light onto a wall in an area where you wish to control fly problems. While you can wall-mount the Genus Spectra Fly Light anywhere, make sure the placement draws flies away from sensitive areas such as dining areas and food prep areas rather than towards them.
- Step 2: Plug the fly light into a nearby electrical outlet and turn it on. It will then be ready to trap some flies.
- Step 3: Change the bulbs and the glue boards periodically when needed.
Where to Use
The Genus Spectra Fly Light is ideal for use in food preparation areas, restaurant establishments, and various other sensitive areas where flies need to be controlled without using harmful chemicals.
When to Use
Use the Genus Spectra Fly Light when dealing with a flying insect issue in food prep or restaurant areas. Flies are active all year.
Safety Information
Genus Spectra Fly Light is safe to use around pets and children when operated according to the product manual instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when using this product.
Special Considerations
To maintain quality fly trapping, glue boards should be replaced at least every 90 days and bulbs once a year.
