Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight
Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight
The Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight, manufactured by Brandenburg, is a professional fly light for trapping various species of flies.
The Genus Orbit is rated to withstand dusty and wet conditions, making it perfect for food and beverage processing plants, can factories and slaughterhouses. The Genus Orbit delivers over two times the UVA output of conventional light traps, adding to its effectiveness in catching flies.
It also has a built-in pheromone tray that will attract insects that are not drawn to the UV 15 watt light bulb. The Orbit Jet is easy to service and clean while also having a dustproof/waterproof seals to make it so no water or dust can hinder it and cause a short circuit.
Tools Needed
There are no tools required to set up the Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight but you may need basic tools (screwdriver etc.) in order to mount it onto a wall.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mount the Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight onto a wall in an area you wish to control fly problems. While you can wall-mount the flylight anywhere, make sure the placement is done in a way that draws flies away from the sensitive areas, such as dining areas and food prep areas rather than towards them. The light comes with an easy wall-mounting template and instructions to help you secure it to the wall.
- Step 2: Open the backplate and remove the control board then secure the unit onto the wall. Insert the control glueboards into the unit, which easily slide in place onto tabs. Remove the release paper off the glueboards and then power on the unit and it is ready to trap some flies.
- Step 3: Change the bulbs and the glue boards periodically and perform clean ups when needed.
Where to Use
The Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight is ideal for use in food preparation areas, slaughterhouses and a variety of other sensitive areas where flies need to be controlled without using harmful chemicals and there is a risk of dust and water splashing and washing down.
When to Use
Use the Genus Orbit Jet Proof Flylight when you are dealing with a flying insect issue in food prep or restaurant areas. Flies are active all year.
Safety Information
The product is safe to use around pets and children. Please follow the accompanying instructions to ensure you are using the product in the proper manner.

Keith's Pro Tips | "Changing glue boards often is important because the more flies get stuck on the glue board, the less effective the light trap. Check periodically to see how full your glue boards are so you can replace with a fresh new board." |
Product Drawbacks | Requires regular maintenance to replace bulbs and glueboards and to clean up dead flies and any debris. |

Q:Where can I find replacement ballasts? I bought two of these items through our bug control company and neither worked for long before the lights stopped turning on, and they don't service them.8/31/21
