Fertilome Fire Blight Spray, manufactured by VPG, is an essential fungicide that does the job against destructive diseases like fire blight before it infests fruit trees, flowers, and shrubs.
Contains streptomycin sulfate 22.4%, which is a type of antibiotic that controls fire blight, bacterial wilt, and stem rot. After this easy to use product is applied expect diseases to be gone within 5 to 7 days.
Fertilome Fire Blight Spray is a preventative fungicide that quickly remedies overall disease infections and continues to fight against diseases in plants that are about to bloom.
Tools Needed
To apply Fertilome Fire Blight Spray, you will need to use either a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or hose-end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Remove all decayed leaves, infested plant plants, and for diseases like crown gall you will need to cut out gall tissue. To control Fire Blight in home plantings, apply 1 tablespoon of Fertilome Fire Blight Spray in 2 1/2 gallons of water. To control fire blight on pyracantha, apply a solution of 1 level tablespoon of product per 2 1/2 gallons of water. To control bacterial wilt on chrysanthemums, soak cuttings for 4 hours in a solution containing 1/2 tablespoon of product per 2 1/2 gallons of water. To control bacterial stem rot on dieffenbachia, use a solution of 1 level tablespoon of product in 2 1/2 gallons of water. To control bacterial stem rot on philodendron, use a solution of 2 level tablespoons of product in 2 1/2 gallons of water. To control crown gall on roses, apply 2 tablespoons of product in 2 1/2 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Fertilome Fire Blight Spray, then pour in the remaining half of water. Shake the sprayer tank until the solution evenly dissolved in water. For hose-end sprayers, add the measured amount of product into tank then spray until the proper amount of water is added.
- Step 3: Spray the mixed Fertilome Fire Blight Spray to the entire plant until evenly covered, but not to the point of runoff. For certain diseases, you will need to soak root system and cut surfaces of infested area for 20 minutes and plant in sterile rooting medium. Continue spray applications every 3 to 4 days during bloom time.

Fertilome Fire Blight Spray can be used for apples, pears, pyracantha, chrysanthemums, philodendron, dieffenbachia, roses, fruit trees, flowers, and shrubs.
When to Use
Use Fertilome Fire Blight Spray at the start of blossoming period and when foliage is free of diseases on calm, warm days when rainfall is not expected for the next 24 hours.
Do not apply when fruit is visible.
