Enstar AQ IGR
Enstar AQ IGR
Enstar AQ IGR, manufactured by Zoecon, is a highly effective water-based insect growth regulator formulation that stops pest infestations from maturing into sexual-reproducing adults on ornamental plants.
Contains the active ingredient S-Kinoprene 18.4%, which delivers a broad-spectrum control against pests such as whiteflies and thrips by stunting their growth resulting in long-term control. This product also causes adult pests to lay sterile eggs after coming into contact with the active ingredient ensuring an immediate stop to future ornamental plant damages.
Enstar AQ IGR is a professional strength insect growth regulator that allows plant growers complete, but gentle control on ornamental plants within 7 days of treatment.
Tools Needed
To apply Enstar AQ IGR, you will need an electrostatic spraying system, pulsFOG equipment, or sprinkler irrigation system (drip, microjet, and overhead irrigation).
Do not apply this product through any other type of irrigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Enstar AQ IGR to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To treat active pest infestations in greenhouse, shadehouse, and lath house grown plants, use 32 fl. oz. of Enstar AQ IGR per 100 gallons of water per 20,000 sq. ft. or 3.5 tbsp of product in 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For a preventative pest treatment in greenhouse, shadehouse, and lath house grown plants, apply 16 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water per 20,000 sq. ft. or 5 tsp in 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Partially fill spray tank with water, then add labeled amount of Enstar AQ IGR, agitate, and complete filling with the remaining half of water.
- Step 3: For conventional spray equipment, spray the Enstar AQ IGR to the top and bottom surfaces of leaves until runoff. Start sprinkler and uniformly inject the suspension of product into the irrigation water line so as to deliver the desired rate. The suspension of product should be injected with a positive displacement pump into the main line ahead of a right angle turn to ensure adequate mixing. Allow foliage to dry prior to resuming normal irrigation.
Where to Use
Apply Enstar AQ IGR to indoor ornamental plants within greenhouses, shadehouses, lath houses, and interiorscapes (i.e., atriums).
When to Use
Use Enstar AQ IGR on existing population of adult insects and before insect populations reach damaging levels. This product may be used on seedling and established stages of ornamentals.
Safety Information
Enstar AQ IGR is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.
Special Considerations
Enstar AQ IGR will not kill pests, but will stunt their growth and cause eggs to become sterile stopping future generations of pest from returning. For complete pest control, we recommend mixing this product with an adulticide insecticide.
