Drexel Diuron 80
Drexel Diuron 80, manufactured by Drexel, is a pre-emergent herbicide that provides contact and residual control on many broadleaf and grassy weeds.
This water-dispersible granule works with various types of soil textures and can also be applied as a dry granulated product with commercial broadcast spreading equipment.
Drexel Diuron 80 is registered for use in crops like cereal grains, fruits, and nuts. It can also be used around in non-crop areas such as commercial lots and highway rights-of-ways.
Tools Needed
To apply Drexel Diuron 80, you will need to use professional ground equipment like a spray rig or a boom sprayer. You can also use aerial equipment for aerial applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Drexel Diuron 80 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For general weed control in non-cropland areas, you'll need to apply 5 to 15 pounds per acre to control most annual weeds.
- Step 2: For a ground application, fill the spray tank with 1/3 to 1/4 of the way with the proper amount of water and mix the proper amount of Drexel Diuron 80. This product must be kept in suspension at all times, agitation can be maintained by mechanical or hydraulic means in the spray tank. Fill the tank the rest of the way with water while continuing agitation.
- Step 3: Spray the final mixture of Drexel Diuron uniformly on a fan setting. Rainfall or sprinkler irrigation needs to occur within 2 weeks of application to achieve the best results.
Where to Use
Drexel Diuron 80 can be used in non-cropland areas such as utilities, highways, pipelines and railroad rights-of-ways, petroleum tank farms, lumberyards, storage areas, airports, sewage disposal areas, fence rows, barrier strips, industrial plant sites, around farm buildings, farm yards, and uncultivated agricultural areas.
When to Use
Drexel Diuron 80 may be used as a pre-emergence treatment at any time of year, except when the ground is frozen, provided adequate moisture is supplied by rainfall or artificial means to activate the herbicide.
Safety Information
Drexel Diuron 80 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep children and pets out of the treated area for 24 hours.
Special Considerations
Soils high in clay or organic matter require higher dosages than soils low in clay or organic matter to obtain equivalent herbicide performance.
