Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175
Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175, manufactured by Drexel, is a emulsfiable concentrate herbicide that provides control over a broad-spectrum of pre-emergent and post-emergent broadleaf weeds in alfalfa, peanut, and soybean crops.
This powerful herbicide displays excellent activitity on a variety of broadleaf weeds such as cocklebur or morningglory within 14 days of application.
Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175 provides ease of application with its ability to tank mix well with other products, making it an economical choice for agricultural professionals or beginning farmers.
Tools Needed
Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175 can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, ground rig, or by aircraft. Sprayers must have screens no finer than 50 mesh in the nozzle tips and in-line strainers.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take your square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). For seedling and established alfalfa, apply 4.6 pints of Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175 per 5-10 gallons of water per acre for weeds up to 1 inch in height. Use 4.6 to 6.8 pints of product per acre for weeds up to 3 inches in height in seedling and established alfalfa. For peanuts, apply 0.9 to 1.1 pints of product per 5-10 gallons of water per acre. For pre-plant through premergence control of weeds in soybeans, use 0.8 to 1.0 pint of product plus 0.5% V/V non-ionic surfactant per 5-10 gallons of water per acre. For post-emergence broadcast (over the top) of weeds in soybeans, apply 0.8 to 1.0 pint of product per 5-10 gallons of water per acre.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of clean water, add measured amount of Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175. Then add the remaining half of clean water and shake until the solution is thoroughly mixed. If tank-mixing with wettable powder, soluble powder, flowable or dry flowable products, add the powder or flowable product first.
- Step 3: Spray the Drexel 2,4-DB DMA 175 mixture at least 4 feet above the crop canopy. Wait until 7 to 10 days have passed after application before watering treated areas with irrigation or rainfall. If necessary than a second application may be made, refer to the label for specific reapplication rates for your treatment area.

For pre-emergent control in soybeans, this product can be applied before planting or before crop emergence. For post-emergent directed band applications in soybeans, it may be used when they are 8 or more inches tall. For over the top post-emergent broadcast application to soybeans, apply from 7 to 10 days before bloom up to mid-bloom when soybeans are about knee-high and growing actively. Soybean foliage should be dark green indicating that nodulation and nitrification are under way.
