For Use In

Drain Gel Fly Killer

Drain Gel Fly Killer

Are you sick and tired of having pesky flies hanging around your drain? These irritating drain flies are attracted to the organic buildup in your drain trap and love hanging around in the accumulated scum and using it as their breeding ground!

Drain Gel is the perfect solution to remove the build up and the flies that it attracts with a thickened gel microbial formula.

Drain Gel Fly Killer is a premium blend of microbes and sweet smelling citrus oil that breaks down gunky drain build up quickly and eliminates bad odors. Just apply Bio Drain and it will work immediately to clear up your drain lines.

Drain Gel Fly Killer also makes for a good cleaning solution for use with a hose end sprayer or as part of a cleaning solution when mopping.

How Drain Gel Works?

Drain Gel contains a specially tested and proven solution of natural microbes, a gelling agent, and an emulsifier all blended with a clean smelling citrus oil. These microbes contain bacillus bacteria that can break down organic scum buildup in drains and floors and wherever there has been food and water spills. Naturally blended citrus oil enhances the solution with a fresh scent. Other ingredients include thickening agents to help thoroughly coat drains and other surfaces requiring attention.

Drain Gel can eliminate the following:

  • * Foul odors

  • * sugar snakes (in soda lines)

  • * Scum buildup in drains

  • * Drain flies and gnats

Ideal Areas to use Drain Gel

Apply Drain Gel anywhere you would like to eliminate odors and organic buildup in drains and soda lines, and on restaurant surfaces. Drain Gel Fly Killer is a great addition to a home pest control plan as it eliminated drain flies and fruit flies that breed in drains. Drain Gel can also be used in kitchens, bathrooms and other areas in your home or business.

Hot water, bleach, is not enough to eliminate and sanitize clogged drain. The best way is to utilize a highly concentrated, professional strength product like Drain Gel will adequately cut through drain scum to prevent odors.

Drain Gel Fly Killer does wonders for soda fountains in restaurants to eliminate "Sugar Snakes": Sugar snakes are crystallized polymers which develop and grow in clogged drain lines in soda fountain machines.  When a soda fountain machine is not adequately maintained for a long period of time, these sugar snakes build up and can lead to bad odors and drain line buildups. Applying Drain Gel to soda fountain drain lines will eliminate these sugar snakes.

How To Apply:

  1. Run 1 to 2 gallon of warm water before treatment to moisten the drain.

  2. Apply the product during periods of low usage.

  3. Apply 4 oz to each drain around the edges and coat the sides.

  4. Repeat application for the next few days and then every 1-2 weeks for ongoing maintenance.

NOTE: Drain Gel alone is not a sufficient solution for eliminating drain flies. General sanitation plays a big role. To eliminate drain flies, fruit flies, and other fly pests, thoroughly sanitizing problem areas, removing trash and food waste and removing standing water is important. When the area has been sufficiently sanitized, InVade Bio Drain may be applied.

Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for Drain Gel:

  • *4 oz. per drain per treatment – Daily or every other day for active infestations, bi-weekly for maintenance - Drain buildup, breeding site for drain flies

  • *1 oz. per soda fountain drip trays – Weekly - Sugar snakes and similar buildup

  • *4 oz. per mop bucket – Standard mop bucket

  • *4-8 oz./gal. of water – Surface cleaning with a sprayer, such as for dumpsters and trash chutes

  • *1/2 to 2 oz./gal. of water – Hose-end or power sprayers

Drain Gel can be used in the following areas:

No restrictions on use sites. Intended for drains, floors, dumpsters, trash chutes, bathrooms, and similar surface cleaning.

See above for general directions.Drain Gel Fly Killer may be used full strength in drains or soda fountain drip trays, or diluted for mopping, surface applications, or foaming.

  • * To foam, use 4-8 oz. in a gallon of water and add 2-4 oz. of foaming agent. Apply using a foamer.

Drain Gel is not meant to be used outdoors with the exception of treating surfaces on or in dumpsters or similar structures. In power sprayers or hose end sprayers apply at a rate of 0.5 to 2 oz. per gallon of water.

I have the little black drain flies in my bathroom. Nowhere else in the house, just in the tub, which is never used, but then they fly and land on everything. Trying to figure out what organic matter is in my bath tub drain which would breed drain flies?
Dale E on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It has been my experience that the drain flies live off the build up on the inside of sink, tub, and shower drain pipes and you would want to treat all of them. The drain gel will remove the build up on inside of pipes that the flies feed off of. I treated drains with hot water first and than followed directions on bottle to remedy issue. The life cycle of the flies is 10-15 days so you will need to keep treating drains for a month solid. After treating for a month, I retreat every 4-6 months and they have not returned.
Found small nest inside my shower head. They get in my hair, tried everything. Please tell me what I am dealing with, bite me around my legs, ankles, sometimes get in my bed to bite me. Sounds like drain flies but do they do these things. What am I dealing with?
Mary W on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Doesn't sound like drain flies; they live on the gunk that collects in the drain line and are more peaty than biters. (this product is great for drain flies). Pull up Drain Fly on line. Perusing those sites taught me more that I ever thought I'd need to know!! GG
Is this product safe to use if the kitchen sink has a garbage disposal?
Valerie W on Aug 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, sinks with garbage disposals shouldn't be a problem at all with this product. It is a cleansing gel which cleans out gunk and organic matter built up in your drain which flies are attracted to.
Does this also kill spring tails?
A shopper on May 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, the Drain Gel will only eliminate the bacteria that builds up inside of the sink. The same bacteria that the drain flys will feed on.
Do you use this product only once you have a problem with flies or should you use it periodically as a preventative measure? If so, how often?
Becky W on Dec 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Drain Gel should be used once a month as preventative to keep the drains clean and organic matter from building up. This will reduce the chances of fly infestation, and keep water flowing.
