Dragnet SFR, manufactured by FMC technologies, is a professional termiticide and insecticide used to control and prevent termites, yellow jackets, fleas, and other insects from invading structures.

Dragnet SFR contains 36.8% permethrin as its active ingredient, which provides a long residual effect due to permethrin not evaporating very easily when it is applied to surfaces. Not only will this create a diluted emulsion, but Dragnet SFR can be made into a foam application as well. Either application method you use, will act as an repellent and prevent insects like termites from entering into the treatment area. Once the targeted insects makes contact with this product it will immediately kill them.

Dragnet SFR is used for exterior and interior application. It can be mixed as a trenching, drenching, spray application, foaming agent to eliminate targeted insects within your walls, slabs, foundations, porches, crawlspaces, voids, crack and crevices, posts, poles, and other wooden constructions (signs, fences).

Tools Needed

To use Dragnet SFR, you will need a hand-held pump sprayer, hose end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a professional skid rig. When treating for subterranean termites, tools for trenching such as a sub-slab injection equipment (to apply product under concrete), type of drill, shovel and wheelbarrow are needed. Rodding equipment may be used if you are not drilling.

How to Use

Spraying the Perimeter of Home for Termites

  • Step 1: Measure your treatment area in square feet to determine how much Dragnet SFR to use. To do this, you will need to measure in feet and multiply the area length times the width (length X width = square footage). For general and perimeter applications, you will need to create a 0.50% emulsion by mixing 1.25 oz. of product per 94.75 which will typically treat 1,000 sq. ft. For trench treatments, use 4 gallons of Dragnet SFR solution (6.67 fl. oz. per gallon of water), per 10 linear feet of trench, both to the bottom of the trench and over the soil on top of services. Refer to the label for specific target pest and application method rates as these may vary.
  • Step 2: For general spray applications made with your selected pump sprayer, begin with filling the spray tank halfway with water, then add in the measured amount of Dragnet SFR, and fill the rest of the way with remaining water. Close the sprayer lid and agitate until solution is well mixed.
  • Step 3: For exterior or perimeter application, apply the Dragnet SFR spray mixture as a low coarse pressure spray to treatment areas. Spray the solution mixture up to 6 to 10 feet wide around the structure of building. For termite trench treatments, dig a trench around the structure's perimeter 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Hang on to the displaced dirt as it will be used to back fill the trench after application. It is helpful to create a dam with the soil within your trench every 10 feet to section off each 10 foot stretch since you will be applying 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. Mix Dragnet SFR solutions thoroughly into the soil. Once Dragnet SFR solution has absorbed into the soil you can fill the trench back in with the displaced dirt. If foundation or slabs has been drilled, fill the holes with a plug.

Where to Use

Use Dragnet SFR before or after construction to eliminate termites. However, Dragnet SFR can be used on the inside and outside of residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields. It may only be used inside a building like a home or office in areas with termite activity, such as a hollow block foundation, void, crawlspaces, cracks and crevices away, carpet, from electrical areas.

For outside application areas this product may be used under slabs, trees, post, poles, and other constructions (signs, fences and landscape ornamentation). Outside surfaces of buildings including, but not limited to exterior surfaces, exterior siding, foundations, porches, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, refuse dumps, lawns, shrubs, ornamental plants and trees, lawn areas adjacent or around private homes, duplexes, townhouses, condominiums, house trailers, apartment complexes, carports, garages, fence lines, storage sheds, barns, other residential structures, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, soil, trunks of woody ornamentals and other areas where pests congregate or have been seen.

Permitted areas of use include, but are not limited to industrial buildings, houses, apartment buildings, laboratories, buses, greenhouses and the non-food/feed areas of stores, warehouses, vessels, railcars, trucks, trailers, aircraft (Do not use in aircraft cabins), schools, nursing homes, hospitals (non-patient areas), restaurants, hotels, and food manufacturing, processing and servicing establishments.

Dragnet SFR is not to be used in areas where food or feed is stored. It may be used in non-food/feed areas: garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains (to sewers), entries and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, garages, mop closets, and storage (after canning or bottling). Applications around pest entry points into buildings, when limited to a surface band cannot exceed one inch in width.

When to Use

Dragnet SFR should be used as a preventative treatment before termites or other insects appear, but may be used when insect infestations such as termites are present. For outside application, apply this product on a calm, dry day when rainfall is not predicted for at least 24 hours to ensure that rain or wind does blow or wash off the product in the treatment area.

Safety Information

Dragnet SFR is safe to use around children or pets when it is applied according to the product label. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying product. Wait at least 48 hours or until treatment area is dry and well-ventilated before allowing children and pets into treatment area.

Special Considerations

When treating the foundation of the structure, you will need to use a type of power drill to drill holes underneath the slab to reach termites in the soil. When spraying the foundation of the buildings structure you will apply no higher than 3 feet.

Keith's Pro Tips"As spring begins, occasionally check the foundation of your home for signs of termites. They will leave tubes of mud alongside the structure of the building, and uneven or bubbling paint on the exterior surface. Termites need moisture to survive, so by sealing gaps around your water and gas lines will help to eliminate their entry points into your house."

Questions and Answers
  1. Q:Can this chemical melt artificial turf ( plastic)?
    9/9/23
A:Dragnet SFR can only be used on real turf, and not artificial aka plastic. Not many pesticides can be used on artificial turf so your best bet is to conduct a perimeter treatment on the building structure and an indoor crack and crack crevice treatment.
