Diuron 4L Herbicide
Diuron 4L Herbicide
Diuron 4L Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare LLC, is a residual herbicide formulated to target annual and perennial grasses and herbaceous weeds in crops.
This suspended concentrate may also be used for pre-emergent and post-emergent control in non-crop areas such as industrial sites and rights-of-way.
While the product is non-selective as a post-emergent, it can be used selectively on certain crops when used as a pre-emergent. This liquid flowable herbicide is easy to mix and apply using a number of different application methods.
Tools Needed
To use Diuron 4L, you will need a professional pesticide spraying rig for large volume applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Diuron 4L Heribicde you will need by calculating the acreage of the target area. To do this, measure (in feet) and multiply the area length times the width to get the square footage (length x width = square footage) and then divide the square footage by 43,560 (square footage /43,560 = acreage). For spraying around crops, the rate varies anywhere from 0.6 to 8 quarts per acre depending on the crop and soil texture (sandy loam, clay, silt loam etc.). For general applications on noncrop sites (rights-of-way, industrial areas), 4 to 12 quarts is the rate per acre in 25 to 100 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill the tank halfway with the required amount of water then add the appropriate measured amount of Diuron 4L. Close the sprayer and agitate it until the solutions is mixed thoroughly.
- Step 3: Apply the product selectively to crop areas either pre-emergently on crops or post-emergently on noncrop areas. Put the sprayer in a fan spray setting for even coverage.
- Step 4: Check back in two weeks and reapply if necessary until the target weed has died.
Where to Use
Diuron 4L Herbicide is for use in crop areas for selective weed control. It can be used for non-selective post-emergent weed control in non-crop areas such as airports, highway, utility and railroad rights-of-way including switchyards and storage yards, sewage disposal areas; uncultivated agricultural areas (noncrop producing, which includes farmyards, fuel storage areas, fence rows, barrier strips); and industrial sites (outdoor, such as, lumberyards, pipeline and tank farms).
When to Use
Apply Diuron when you have weed problems, particularly in the early spring. Diuron is also a pre-emergent so you can apply it preventatively in the fall and springtime. For post-emergent treatments, best results are obtained on succulent weeds growing under conditions of high humidity and temperature of 70°F or higher. Apply on a calm day when wind speed is less than or equal to 10 miles per hour to prevent spray drift.
Safety Information
Diuron 4L is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Be sure to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying. Keep the product safely out of reach of children or pets and after applying everyone should be kept off the treated area until it is dry.
Special Considerations
Diuron 4L application rates vary depending on the weed you are treating, the specific crop you will be spraying and the soil type. You will need to check the label carefully for proper info for your specific weed problem. Diuron 4L can not be used on home plantings of trees, shrubs, or herbaceous plants or lawns, walks, driveways, tennis courts, or similar areas.
