Copper Fungicide Dust, manufactured by Bonide, is a copper formulated dust that prevents and controls various diseases on a wide range of plants from shade trees, herbs, and other crop species.

Specially designed to be used as ready to use water-soluble spray or as a dust, which helps to meet a homeowners preference of application.

Copper Fungicide Dust is an organic fungicide that conveniently and easily treats diseases on plants without burning desired foliage.

Tools Needed

To use Copper Fungicide Dust, you will need to use either a handheld pump sprayer or hose-end sprayer. To dust, simply apply this product from the container or use a pressure duster.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Copper Fungicide Dust to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the foliage and disease, the application rates will vary so it would be best to refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. To treat apples (bloom and growing season stage), use 2 to 4 3/4 oz. of Copper Fungicide Dust per 1,000 sq. ft. If you decide to use this product as a spray on listed fruits and nuts, you will need to apply 3 gallons of water to a small tree or bush, 6 gallons of water to a medium size tree, or 9 gallons of water to a large tree. To treat beans, apply 2 to 6 1/2 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. If you decide to use this product as a spray on listed vegetables and herbs, you will need to mix the product in 3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For ornamental flowers, shrubs, and vines use 8 oz. of product in 3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. as a spray. To treat as a dust, simply use 8 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: To mix as a spray, fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, and add proper amount of Copper Fungicide Dust. Pour in the remaining half of water then agitate the tank until product completely dissolves.
  • Step 3: Thoroughly spray the Copper Fungicide Dust solution to the top and bottom of plant leaves to the point of runoff. To use as dust, apply a thin, uniform layer to the top and bottom of foliage leaves. Small canisters may be used as a duster by partially crushing and rapidly squeezing the sides in upright position, or use a good pressure duster.

Where to Use

Copper Fungicide Dust is meant for small garden use only. Apply this product to potatoes, tomatoes, fruits, flowering shrubs, vines, shade trees, and ornamental flowers.

When to Use

Apply Copper Fungicide Dust when wind is very light or absent, usually early morning or evening.

Do not apply this product when rainfall is expected within 24 hours of application.

Safety Information

Copper Fungicide Dust is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
