Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14
Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 , manufactured by Southern Ag, will help create sufficient fertilization for newly potted plants as well as plants that have already been established.
Formulated as a coated slow-release fertilizer, Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 is a great way to nutritionally sustain established plants and help establish newly planted vegetation for up to four months.
Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 can also be used in flower beds and vegetable gardens for healthy growth and root strength during the growing season for nursery professionals.
Tools Needed
To use Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14, you will either need the enclosed spoon included with the bag or a chemical measuring cup depending on the area you intend on treating.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For established plantings, apply 3 Tablespoons of Controlled Release Fertilizer per 2 ft x 2 ft area (4 sq ft) or 1 cup of product per 20 sq. ft. For newly planted bedding plants, bulbs, roses, shrubs or vegetables, mix 3 tablespoons of product per 2 ft x 2 ft area (4 sq ft). Refer to label for specific mix rates for certain established potted plants.
- Step 2: Take the measured amount of Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 and apply. For established plants, apply to the soil surface under any mulch, and work into soil without damaging roots and then water. For newly planted bedding plants, bulbs, roses, shrubs, or vegetables, mix the product into the soil and rake-in up to 3 inches or mix around each 2- 4” transplant.
- Step 3: For newly planted bedding plants, bulbs, roses, shrubs, or vegetables, wait until established (approx. 1 month) and then apply another 1 tablespoon of Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 per plant for smaller plants and bulbs. Apply 2 Tablespoons of fertilizer per plant for larger plants like shrubs, roses, tomatoes, squash and corn. For established potted plants, apply uniformly to the soil surface every 3 months.
Where to Use
Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 can be applied to the soil surface of established potted plants, flower beds, established plantings, and new plantings of bedding plants, bulbs, roses, shrubs, or vegetables.
The soil surface around larger plants like tomatoes, squash, or corn can also be treated.
When to Use
Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 can be used both before and after labeled plants have been established to help with overall plant health during the growing season.

Controlled Release Fertilizer 14-14-14 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.
