Monterey Codling Moth Trap & Lure, manufactured by Monterey, is an easy-to-set-up pheromone trap that attracts male codling moths and traps them, preventing them from mating with females.

By trapping male codling moths, this non-toxic trap reduces the overall population and limits the damage done to fruit and nut trees.

Monterey Codling Moth Trap & Lure reduces infestations without toxic chemicals and provides an early warning system for home gardens and orchards against early codling moth activity, allowing for quicker control.

Tools Needed

No tools are needed as the trap comes ready to use.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Attach hanger. Grasp the trap by top and bottom flags.
  • Step 2: Pull apart to form a trap (do not touch glue).
  • Step 3: Open the lure packet; place one lure on the inside upper surface of the trap. (do not touch the attractant lure).
  • Step 4: Hang the trap in your fruit or nut tree. Place the Monterey Codling Moth Trap & Lure 1 to 2 feet inside the tree canopy. Check for moths every 2 to 3 days and apply appropriate treatments to control them. Recycle or dispose of traps when they are full of insects, or at least every 4 weeks.

Where to Use

Monterey Codling Moth Trap & Lure can be used on apples, pears, and walnut trees.

When to Use

Place traps in trees 1 to 2 weeks before bud break, in early spring.
