Tools Needed
To use Chlorothalonil 500 ZN Fungicide you will need either a hose end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For small household jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a hose end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how muchChlorothalonil 500 ZN Fungicide you will need to mix by calculating the square footage of the treatment site. To do this, measure (in feet) the area length and width, then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For small spot treatments to ornamental plants growing in landscapes, the rate is 1.9 teaspoons (or 0.31 ounces) per 2 gallons of water to treat 1,000 square feet. For large volume applications, apply Chlorothalonil in 3 to 13.9 pints in 30 to 40 gallons of water per acre depending on the disease being controlled.
- Step 2: Shake the container well and mix the product into your selected sprayer by adding half the required amount of water to the spray tank, followed by the appropriate measured amount of Chlorothalonil 500 ZN Fungicide based on your calculations. Fill with the remaining half of the required amount of water and agitate the sprayer to ensure the product is mixed well.
- Step 3: Spray the fungicide onto the leaf of the plant, placing the sprayer on a fan spray setting for even coverage. Apply water to the plant after spraying in order for a film to form and protect the plant from infection.
- Step 4: Repeat applications can be made 7 to 28 day intervals if necessary.
