Captan 80 WDG Fungicide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a water dispersable granule fungicide that gives professional plant growers effective disease protection from foliar and root fungi.

Formulated with captan 77.8% and related derivatives 1.8% as its active ingredients, this contact fungicide ensures reliable control of the most challenging diseases in fruit and ornamental crops. 

Captan 80 WDG Fungicide versatility of being used as a foliar spray or soil treatment allows for early disease protection that will last for 2 weeks to tackle diseases faster and ensure short harvest intervals. 

Tools Needed

To apply Captan 80 WDG Fungicide, you will need to use a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, spray rig, or aerial application equipment. 

How to Use 

• Step 1: Determine how much Captan 80 WDG Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For sod farm turf, use 0.125 lb. of Captan 80 WDG Fungicide per 10 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1.25 lbs. of product per 100 gallons of water. For specific application rates refer to the product lablel.
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Captan 80 WDG Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and shake until solution is mixed. 
• Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of foliage with Captan 80 WDG Fungicide until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Repeat at set intervals as instructed on the label depending on the crop you are treating. 

Where to Use 

Use Captan 80 WDG Fungicide for listed fruit and nut crops, golf course turf, sod farm turf, roses, and other non-food ornamentals. 

When to Use

Apply Captan 80 WDG Fungicide before or at first sign of disease on days when rainfall is not forecasted to occur for the next 48 hours after application. 

Safety Information 

Captan 80 WDG Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Keep people and pets out of treated areas for 48 hours after application.

Special Considerations

Do not use Captan 80 WDG Herbicide in combination with or closely following or in alternation with wettable sulfur products on sulfur sensitive varieties of apples such as Red Delicious, Staymen, Baldwin, King, etc., as severe injury and defoliation may occur.
