Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide
Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide
Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is a selective pre-emergent herbicide designed to kill labeled weeds in citrus and non-crop areas. The product is used primarily in non-crop areas and industrial sites for season-long control of annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, and brush.
This effective bare ground herbicide contains the active ingredients Bromacil 40% and Diuron 40%, which works together as Photosystem II Inhibitors for improved, long lasting weed control. Once applied, it works through root uptake of the targeted plants and has limited contact activity.
Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide is designed to deliver long-lasting control over a broad-spectrum of weeds like quackgrass or curly dock at the lowest application rate, making it an economical bare-ground herbicide.
Tools Needed
To use Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide, you will need either a backpack sprayer, hand-pump sprayer, power sprayer or professional spraying rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, divide your square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). Depending on the state in which Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide is being used and the application site, the rates will vary. Most applications are used at a rate of 6 to 16 lbs. of Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide per acre.
- Step 2: To mix, fill the spray tank halfway with water. Add Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide at the rate recommended on the label for your application and then add any additional component and fill with water the rest of the way, agitating throughout.
- Step 3: Once mixed, apply Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide as a band or broadcast treatment around areas you wish for there to be no plant life growing. Reapply as needed prior to growing seasons for continued bare ground management.
Where to Use
Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide is best used around citrus trees and non-crop and uncultivated areas and industrial sites. This includes airports, highways, railroad and utility rights of way, sewage disposal areas, farmyards, fuel storage areas, fence rows, barrier strips, lumberyards, pipelines, and tank farms.
When to Use
Use Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide just before or after weed seeds have germinated to moist soil for most effective results. Apply when the treatment site has been adequately irrigated through either rainfall or manual irrigation within 2 weeks of application. Apply on calm days when wind speeds are low to minimize spray drift.
Safety Information
Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
For citrus tree treatment, Bromacil 40/40 Bare Ground Herbicide applications are limited to broadcast or band treatments beneath and/or below trees. Prior to and during the application, continuous agitation is necessary to keep the product in suspension. Agitate spray tank contents by mechanical or hydraulic means; do not use air agitation.
