Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is a flexible wettable granule herbicide that provides pre-emergent control over broadleaf and grassy weeds in lawns, landscape ornamentals, and non-crop areas.
Designed to prevent and eliminate germinating weeds all season long even during the fall season to lessen weed difficulties usually encoutered in the spring. As a bonus, this product contains the same active ingredient and percentage as Barricade 65 WDG with the exception of lower application rate usage.
Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide is a safe and season-long pre-emergent that allows warm- and cool-seasoned turf lush top growth throughout the year with no competiting weeds.
Tools Needed
To apply Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide, you will need to use a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat Bermudagrass, Bahiagrass, Centipedegrass, Kikuyugrass, Seashore Paspalum, St. Augustinegrass, Tall Fescue, (including turf-type) Zoysiagrass, use 0.36-0.83 oz. of Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide in 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To treat Buffalograss, Kentucky Bluegrass, or Perennial Ryegrass use 0.185 - 0.55 oz. of product in 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For Fine Fescue, apply 0.185- 0.42 oz. of product in 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For Creeping Bentgrass (0.5 inches or more in height), use 0.185 - 0.37 oz. of product in 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the sprayer tank and agitate until mixed.
- Step 3: Spray Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide to the top layer of soil or mix it into the soil to a depth of 1-2 inches. Apply 0.5 inches of irrigation after application or no later than 14 days following application.
Where to Use
Use Alligare Prodiamine 65 WG Herbicide in established turfgrasses (excluding golf course putting greens), lawns and sod nurseries; container, field-grown, and landscape ornamentals; conifer and hardwood seedling nurseries; established perennials and wildflower plantings; non crop areas including managed rights-of-way for transportation systems and utilities (including roadways, roadsides, railways, and equipment yards); facilities including substations, tank farms, pumping stations, parking and storage areas, and ungrazed fence rows; Christmas tree farms.
When to Use
