Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide
Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide is a powerful, non-selective herbicide that provides extended, broad-spectrum control of broadleaf weeds and brush in non-crop and industrial sites.
09/27/25
Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is an effective liquid non-selective herbicide that ensures ease of application and consistent performance, making it a preferred choice for vegetation management professionals.
One of the standout features of this product is its prolonged residual control. Once applied, it remains active in the soil, preventing weed regrowth for extended periods. This longevity minimizes the frequency of reapplications, saving time and resources.
Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide is an excellent pre- and post-emergent herbicide that targets a wide range of tough-to-control weeds and brush like Bermudagrass, quackgrass, nutsedge, and more.
Tools Needed
It can be applied with a backpack sprayer, spray rig, or other ground equipment.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To control woody plants use 2 3/4 to 6 gallons of Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide per 100 gallons of water per acre. For annual weed control, apply 3/4 to 3 gallons of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. For perennial weed control, use 4 to 6 gallons or 10 to 12 gallons of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Apply Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide as a coarse spray over the target area until wet, but not the point of runoff. After application, irrigate the treated area with 2 inches of water.
Where to Use
Alligare Hyvar X-L IVM Herbicide can be used on non-crop industrial sites as follows: uncultivated non-agricultural areas (including, airports, highway, railroad and utility rights-of-way, sewage disposal areas); uncultivated agricultural areas (non-crop producing, which includes: farmyards, fuel storage areas, fence rows, barrier strips); industrial sites (outdoor, including, lumberyards, pipeline and tank farms).
Do not use in residential areas or around homes in areas such as lawns, driveways or parking lots.
When to Use

Do not make applications to frozen soil.
