Allectus GC SC
Allectus GC SC
Allectus SC, manufactured by Bayer, is a great suspended concentrate insecticide that makes controlling common insect populations effortless and easy within commercial and residential lawns and recreational areas like parks for 7 to 10 days.
Contains two potent active ingredient imidacloprid 5.0% and bifenthrin 4.0%, which work together to eliminate pests such as Japanese beetles by interfering with its nervous system when they eat or touch the product material leading to death within several days.
Allectus SC is a potent insecticide that disrupts the activity of above and below-ground pests, preventing further damages to desired foliage and increasing the chances of a successful aesthetic appearance of lawns and ornamentals.
Tools Needed
Allectus SC can be applied with a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, spray rig, or soil injection equipment.
Do not formulate this product into other end-use products nor use it with any type of irrigation systems.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Allectus SC to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To find the size of the shrub or tree, you will measure the distance around the tree trunk or the height of the shrub. Measure distance in inches around the tree trunk at chest height. If there are multiple tree trunks, add their measurements together. For turfgrasses, use 3.6 to 4.5 pints of Allectus SC in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Applications to soil around trees, use 0.45 to 0.9 fl. oz. of product in 10 gallons of water per inch of trunk diameter (D.B.H.). To treat shrubs, apply 0.45 to 0.9 fl. oz. of product in 10 gallons of water per foot of shrub height. For flowers and groundcovers, use 1.32 to 1.65 fl. oz product in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Allectus SC, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Depending on the pest and treatment area, apply the mixed Allectus SC as a broadcast or foliar application by spraying the top and bottom of foliage leaves until wet. For optimum control, irrigation or rainfall should occur within 24 hours after application to move the active ingredient through the thatch. Avoid mowing turf or lawn area until after irrigation or rainfall has occurred so that uniformity of application will not be affected.
Where to Use
Apply Allectus SC to turfgrass and landscape ornamentals of residential lawns, commercial, industrial, institutional, and recreational areas including athletic field and parks.
Not for use in commercial greenhouses, nurseries, or on grasses grown for seed, golf courses, sod farms or on commercial fruit and nut trees.
When to Use
Allectus SC should be used when turfgrass is dry and soil is not saturated with water. Best to make applications before pest activity begins or when infestation is first noticed.
Applications can be made to ornamentals as either a broadcast treatment or incorporated into the soil before planting or apply after plants are established.
Safety Information
Allectus SC is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow children or pets on treated surfaces until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Optimum control of subsurface feeders will be achieved when Allectus SC applications are made prior to egg hatch of the target pest, followed by sufficient irrigation or rainfall to move the active ingredient through the thatch.
