Advion Fire Ant Bait, manufactured by Syngenta, is a professional Indoxacarb granular insecticide bait offering rapid control over fire ants, pavement ants, and other ant species.

It ensures total control against ants in 24 to 72 hours for entire ant colony elimination by either contact or ingestion from foraging ants. Its ability to bring ant populations under control in less than three days and work at the direct moment of contact makes this product faster than any other ant baits on the market.

Advion Fire Ant Bait, with its alluring granular formulation, provides superior ant control in lawns, golf courses, and recreational areas.

Tools Needed

To apply for Advion Fire Ant Bait, you will need a granular spreader. A handheld or broadcast spreader should work fine for smaller applications. This product can be applied as both a broadcast treatment and individual mounds.

How to Use

Spreading Ant Bait

  • Step 1: Determine how much Advion Fire Ant Bait to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 0.5 oz. of Advion Fire Ant Bait per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1.5 lbs. of product per acre. To treat individual ant mounds, apply 4 level tablespoons (0.5 oz) of product per mound.
  • Step 2: Load your granule spreader with Advion Fire Ant Bait. Calibrate and adjust the equipment prior to application to ensure that the proper product rate is applied.
  • Step 3: Apply the Advion Fire Ant Bait uniformly to the treatment area. It may take numerous pass-throughs for broadcast treatment to get an even spread. When treating ant mounds, apply uniformly 3 to 4 feet around the mound. Do not apply to the tops of the mound or disturb the mound during application. Retreat after 12 to 16 weeks if needed.

Where to Use

Advion Fire Ant Bait is labeled to be used on lawns, landscaped areas, golf courses, commercial grounds, parks, and other non-cropland areas such as airports, roadsides, cemeteries, commercial grounds, parks, school grounds, picnic grounds, athletic fields, and other recreational areas, as well as grounds surrounding poultry houses (excluding runs and ranges) or corrals and other animal holding areas.

When to Use

Advion Fire Ant Bait can be applied at any time of the day, but the best time to apply is early in the morning or in the evenings. During these peak times, fire ants are usually foraging for food. This fire ant bait may be scattered as a broadcast treatment or used on individual mounds.

If it rains within 4 hours, Advion Fire Ant Bait will not work, so wait for the forecast to show no rain for a few days.

Safety Information

Advion Fire Ant Bait is safe for use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.

Do not allow pets or people to contact treated areas.

Special Considerations

Advion Fire Ant Bait comes in two sizes, a 2-pound pail suitable for multiple uses in residential homes (that should last years) or a 25-pound pail, for commercial jobs.
