3 Way Max Turf & Ornamental Herbicide by Agrisel, is a post-emergent, selective herbicide with a broad label for effective weed control. 3 Way Max can be used to easily treat a wide variety of broadleaf weeds in both cool and warm season grasses.

3 Way Max is formulated with 3 active ingredients, offering effective control of even the toughest broadleaf weeds. 3 Way Max is labelled to control over 50 weeds, including dandelion, clover, henbit, and many others.

3 Way Max can be used on many turf types in multiple locations, such as lawns, parks, golf courses, rights-of-way, and more. It is easy to mix, has a low odor, and is safe to use on most grasses.

Tools Needed

To apply 3 Way Max, you will need either a hand sprayer, hose end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a spray rig for large volume applications.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much 3 Way Max you will need to treat by measuring the treatment area in square feet or in acreage. Do this by measuring the length and width, and then multiplying them together (length x width = square feet.) To find acreage, take the total square feet and divide by 43,560.
  • Step 2: Mix the proper amount of 3 Way Max based on your treatment area. For listed warm season grasses, the rate is 0.75 to 0.9 oz. of 3 Way Max Turf and Ornamental Broadleaf Herbicide per 1 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Acerage applications of listed warm-season grasses, apply 2 to 2.5 pints of product per 40 to 200 gallons of water per acre. For listed cool-season grasses, the rate is 1.1 to 1.5 oz. of product per 0.5 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Acre applciations of listed cool-season grasses, use 3 to 4 pints of product per 5 to 200 gallons of water per acre. For non-turf areas, use 4 fl. oz. per gallon for spot treatments and 7 pints per acre for large volume application. For woody plant control, use 1 to 1.18 gallons in 100 to 600 gallons of water per acre. For example, if you were treating a 2,500 sq. ft. warm season lawn at the highest rate, then you would need to use 2.25 fl. oz. with at least 2.5 gallons of water (0.9 x 2.5 = 2.25). To mix, fill your sprayer halfway with water, add your measured amount of 3 Way Max, and then fill your sprayer to capacity. Shake to ensure an even mix.
  • Step 3: Spray over the targeted weeds with low to medium pressure. Make a uniform application, spraying the weed to wet and not runoff. Keep all people and pets off the treated areas until dry. Wait at least 48 hours before watering the turf.

Where to Use

3 Way Max can be used on ornamental turf lawns (recreational, industrial, and institutional), parks, cemeteries, athletic and sports fields, golf courses (fairways, aprons, tees and roughs), and similar turf areas. It can also be used on sod farms and non-turf areas, such as roadsides, rights-of-ways, fencerows, hedgerows, utility power lines, railroads, airports, and industrial sites.

When to Use

Use 3 Way Max Turf & Ornamental Herbicide on calm days when wind speeds are low to minimize drift. It is best to apply before temperatures reach 80 degrees F. Do not apply when rain is expected within 48 hours. For best results, apply in early spring or early fall when weeds are actively growing and not yet established.

Safety Information

3 Way Max is safe to use around people and pets when applied according to label directions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and keep all people and pets off the treated areas until dry.

Special Considerations

3 Way Max is tough on weeds, but tough on grass too. After application, some discoloring may be noticeable on turf but will generally disappear after about 1 week. Some grasses, like St. Augustine or Centipede grass, may be damaged with application.
