Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide

Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide, manufactured by PBI Gordon, is an exceptional dinotefuran-based insecticide that cost-effectively controls sap-feeding pests, piercing-sucking pests, and plant-feeding pests in many outdoor sites such as residential, commercial, and industrial.

This systemic insecticide moves throughout plant tissues and roots to target pests such as grubs and crane fly larvae. It will also kill pests like billbugs, mole crickets, and thrips upon contact and ingesting treated foliage, reducing plant damage. 

Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide is a professional systemic insecticide that works on a wide variety of ornamentals and turf to eliminate over 100 pests with fewer applications. Whether applied as a foliar spray, soil drench, or trunk injection, Zylam delivers reliable results against a wide variety of chewing and sucking pests.

Tools Needed

It can be applied with a hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat residential, recreational, and commercial turfgrass apply 1.8 fl. oz. of Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For foliar applications to landscape ornamentals, use 7.25 to 16 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Use a minimum of 50 gallons of finished spray per acre. Use a minimum of 1 gallon of finished spray per 1000 sq. ft. For residential, recreational, and commercial turfgrass applications, do not apply more than a total of 78.9 fl. oz. of this product per acre per year. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then add in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until solution is mixed.
• Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. For best results, do not irrigate or water for 24 hours after application. If rainfall does not occur in 48 hours after application, irrigate with sufficient water to ensure movement of the active ingredient through the thatch and into the root zone.

Where to Use

Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide can be used on outdoor residential, recreational and commercial turfgrass in home lawns, commercial lawns, multi-family residential and apartment complexes, grounds or lawns around business and office complexes, shopping centers, airports, military and other institutions, cemeteries, golf courses, playgrounds, parks, athletic fields, and sod farms. It may also be used on landscape ornamental plants.

When to Use

Apply this product when insect pest populations begin to build, but before populations reach economically damaging levels.

Safety Information

Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not allow people and pets to enter treated areas until the spray has dried. 

Special Considerations

Do not apply when the target site is saturated with water. Adequate distribution of the active ingredient cannot be achieved when these conditions exist.
