Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS, manufactured by Summit Chemical, is an organic liquid product that can be applied at any point of the year to control garden insects like aphids and diseases such as powderey mildew.
As a safe to apply product, Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS will protect various flowers and foliage from pest activity without burning or discoloring the treated plant.
Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS will completely remove pests by natural suffocation through its organic active ingredient Mineral Oil 98.8%. Due to this non-chemical formulation, an application of this product will not provide high odors in your residential yard or garden.
Tools Needed
Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS is ready to use as a hose-end sprayer application. You will need a water hose to connect with the product spray nozzle.
How to Use
- Step 1: Examine the foliage to be treated to ensure Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS can be used. Determine how much Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS to use by calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To find this, measure the length and width of the treatment site in feet and multiply (length X width = square footage). 1 quart of this product will create 25 gallons of spray solution.
- Step 2: Attach the garden hose to Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS spray nozzle and turn on the water. Push the safety tab down and control to water.
- Step 3: Point the Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS nozzle towards the foliage to be sprayed and turn water control knob to on to mix with water. Do not be alarmed as water will be clear during application. Spray with average water pressure, but not to the point of excess as this can damage the plant. After application, turn knob to off/closed position. Do not exceed the maximum rates or apply more than specified.
Where to Use
Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS is to be used on residential sites containing fruits and vegetables (including apples, pears, almonds, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plum, prune, pecans), citrus trees (including lemon, grapefruit, naval oranges, Valencia oranges, other citrus includes nonbearing varieties), shade trees, shrubs, ornamentals, flower and foliage plants, conifers, shade trees (dormant), Deciduous broadleaf evergreens, roses, flowering shrubs, bedding plants, and foliage ornamentals.
Do not spray walnut foliage.
When to Use
For best results, use Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS when plants are not suffering from drought and at the beginning of each season prior to buds opening and when shoot elongation is not occurring. Use at least a 2 week interval between applications.
Spray this product in the early evening and early morning when there has not been periods of prolonged heat and when rain is forecasted for 24 hours.
Safety Information
Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
People and pets should not be allowed to enter treated areas until spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Year-Round Horticultural Spray Oil RTS cannot be used with dimetholate, herbicides or fungicides such as Captan, Folpet, Dyrene, Karathene, Morestan or any product containing sulfur. Do not use with Sevin 50w formulation (carbaryl) on deciduous fruit trees.
