X-Out Herbicide, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a powerful fast-acting liquid herbicide that is used to control the most persistent grass weeds, broadleaf weeds, and perennial woody weed species like poison ivy on non-crop areas.

This product is similar to other non-selective herbicides, but has the benefit of being rainfast 4 hours after application. This causes minimum applications thus becoming cost-efficient and reducing manual labor.

While X-Out Herbicide provides superior weed control it will not reside in the soil making re-planting or reseeding easier.

Tools Needed

To use X-Out Herbicide, you will need a handheld sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig for large applications.

Do not use flood jet nozzles, irrigation system, controlled droplet application equipment, or air-assisted spray equipment.

How to Use

Spraying Industrial Area

  • Step 1: Determine how much X-Out Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Do this by measuring the length and width of the treatment site in feet and multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, take your square footage and divide it by 43,560 which is one acre (square footage / 43,560 = acre). For spot treatment or direct applications, use 0.75 to 1.75 oz. of X-Out Herbicide per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For broadcast or boom applications, apply 40 to 56 oz. of product per 40 gallons of water per acre with a minimum of 30-psi spray pressure. Do not make more than 3 applications per year for broadcast or boom applications but no more than 2 applications per year for Dormant bermudagrass. X-Out Herbicide applications cannot be more than 240 oz. per acre per year to non-crop areas except on Dormant bermudagrass which is no more than 80 oz. of product per acre per year.
  • Step 2: To mix, fill your selected sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, add the appropriate amount of X-Out Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the lid to the sprayer tank and shake until solution is evenly mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the weed with a fan-spray setting, holding the nozzle directly over the weeds to ensure even coverage. If spraying in areas near desired foliage use a shield made out of cardboard, plywood, or sheet-metal while spraying to protect your foliage from coming into contact with the spray solution. Applications must be made at least 14 days apart in non-crop areas.

Where to Use

X-Out Herbicide may be used for trimming and edging landscape areas around individual trees and shrubs, landscape beds, foundations, fences, driveways, paths, and parking areas also on golf courses along cart paths, around sign and light posts, and around sand traps. This product may also be applied on farmsteads, recreational, and public areas including around areas around farmstead building foundations, shelter belts, along fences, airports, commercial plants, storage and lumber yards, educational facilities, fence lines, ditch banks, dry ditches, roadsides, schools, parking lots, tank farms, pumping stations, and parks. On dormant Bermudagrass that is well-established, around and within shade and greenhouses, and as a direct spray around containers and field grown established ornamentals and Christmas trees.

Not for use on recreational turf grasses and lawns.

When to Use

X-Out Herbicide is ideal to use when weeds are active or preparing a pre-plant site. For easier weed control, X-Out Herbicide should be applied when weeds are under stressed from drought or cool temperatures and when temperatures are warm. This herbicide should be applied when weed speeds are lower than 10 miles per hour from between dawn and 2 hours before sunset to avoid reduced lambsquarter palmer amaranth and velvetleaf control.
