Wilco Zinc Homeowner Bait
Wilco Zinc Homeowner Bait is a high-performance single-feed bait that effectively eliminates pocket gophers infesting residential yards quickly and efficiently.
10/30/25
Wilco Zinc Homeowner Bait, manufactured by Wilco, is a powerful single-feed rodenticide that makes it easier than ever for homeowners to control property damages caused by pocket gophers.
This wheat-formulated bait contains the active ingredient zinc phosphide 2.0%, which reacts with stomach acid to produce phosphine gas, a toxic substance that disrupts the rodent's metabolism and leads to rapid elimination. This mechanism ensures a quick and humane resolution to infestations.
Wilco Zinc Homeowner Bait is an easy-to-apply wheat bait that offers a very palatable bait composition to entice pocket gophers to consume the material. Its potent zinc phosphide formula, combined with ease of use and versatile application, makes it an ideal choice for homeowners seeking to protect their properties from pocket gopher infestations.
Tools Needed
A long-handled spoon and chemical-purpose teaspoon will need to be applied.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine which tunnels are actively being used by pocket gophers. To locate main runways, probe about 6 to 8 inches away from mounds by use of an iron bar, a strong stick, or other suitable implement. Resistance on the probe will drop suddenly and the probe will fall about two inches when the main runway is entered. Carefully enlarge the opening to accomodate the insertion of the bait. Insert one teaspoon of bait into each active tunnel.
- Step 2: Carefully close the hole with a stone, sod, or soil. Take care not to cover bait with soil.
- Step 3: Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals and of leftover bait in accordance with disposal instructions. Use detergent and hot water to wash spoons. Do not use spoons for mixing, holding, or transferring food or feed. If the reinfesation does occur, repeat treatment.
Where to Use
Wilco Zinc Homeowner Bait can only be used directly into burrow or tunnel systems of pocket gophers in lawns.
Do not apply in gardens and areas where food or feed may become contaminated.
When to Use
Use this product when you have noticed signs of pocket gopher activity.
