The 960 Vector fruit fly trap is engineered with a 10-hole venting lid to optimize Fruit Fly exposure to the vapors emitted from the liquid attractant. The 960 Vector Fruit Fly Trap is designed to attract adult fruit flies from short distances and, by counting and mapping infestation levels, to pinpoint specific sources of infestation.
Tools Needed
Product comes ready to use. No other pieces of equipment necessary.
How to Use
- Step 1:Tear off the foil seal and attach the 10-hole venting lid and it is ready for placement. Be careful not to spill the liquid attractant. For a more secure placement, use the glue dots included in each case.
- Step 2: Place the traps in areas where Fruit Flies have been seen. Place the traps where they will not be disturbed or tipped.
- Step 3: Remove the lid to count the number of adults in the trap. If there are a large number of captured flies in a single trap, you may want to strain the liquid for ease of counting.
- Step 4: Discard traps after 30-days of use and replace with new traps if necessary.
Where to Use
Traps are most effective when placed near breeding sites. Place behind or under bars, beverage centers, dishwashers, food displays, food service islands, sinks, ovens, supply racks, vending machines, food preparation tables, etc.
When to Use
This product should be used when there is an influx of fruit fly activity in the area.

Special Considerations
Fruit Flies will gravitate toward decaying food odors so it is important to discard all food peels and food materials to minimize fruit fly activity in production areas.

Vector 960 Fruit Fly Trap is Helpful
In the ten days we've had it down, this trap has lessened a fruit fly problem we have around our cat's basement eating area, but hasn't eliminated it. In order to work, we had to move it to within a foot of her food dish. The cider vinegar odor it gives off didn't bother her and lessened by day two. The area is otherwise clean and dry.

Q:Is this considered organic fruit fly control?8/22/17A:Although you are not spraying any chemical this is does control chemical inside the Vector fruit Fly Trap well, they are to be placed as close to the sources of the fruit fly infestation. You will need to peel off the silver foil and replace the orange lid that has the holes that the fruit flies enter into. Q:How do these work to control fruit flies?8/22/17A:The Vector Fruit Fly Traps are meant to be placed as close to the fruit fly source as possible, once the foil is removed it acts as strong attractant to the adult fruit flies, they will fly into the openings and be trap in the container. After infestation of fruit flies is over the container can then be thrown away with all the dead fruit flies inside.
