UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide

UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that disrupts the nervous system of insects upon contact or ingestion.

Cypermethrin, its active ingredient, provides quick knockdown and residual control of a broad spectrum of insect pests, making it an invaluable tool for pest management in agriculture.

UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide is a valuable tool for controlling a wide range of insect pests in agricultural settings.

Tools Needed

This product can only be applied with a groundboom, overhead chemigation, or airblast equipment. 

In regards to irrigation systems, only apply it through a sprinkler, including center pivot, lateral move, end tow, side (wheel) roll, traveler, big gun, solid set, or hand move irrigation systems. Do not apply this product through any other type of irrigation systems.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). General applications in cotton will use 3 to 5 fl. oz. of UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide per 5 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates. 
• Step 2: Prepare the insecticide solution by mixing the appropriate amount of UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide with water according to the recommended dosage rates. Proper agitation during mixing is essential to ensure uniform dispersion of the product.
• Step 3: Ensure thorough coverage of plant foliage and target areas where pests are present.

Where to Use

UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide can be used for cotton, head and stem brassica, leafy brassica greens, head lettuce, bulb vegetables, and pecans. 

When to Use

Apply when pests are witnessed on days with calm weather and wind speeds beneath 15 mph. 

With the exception of the crops listed on the product label, rotational crops may not be planted within 30 days after the last application.

Safety Information 

UP-Cyde 2.5 EC Agricultural Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not graze livestock in treated areas or cut treated crops for feed.

Keep people and pets away from treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.

Special Considerations

Beet armyworms can only be controlled in the high plains of Texas, Arizona, and California.

Dealers must sell in original packages only. 

Construct and maintain a minimum 10-foot wide vegetative filter strip of grass or other permanent vegetation between the field edge and down gradient aquatic habitat (such as, but not limited to, lakes; reservoirs; rivers; permanent streams; marshes or natural ponds; estuaries; and commercial fish farm ponds).
