Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide

Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide, manufactured by Amvac, is a reliable and convenient granular protectant fungicide against various soil-borne fungal diseases in turfgrass and ornamental plants within 2 weeks.

It contains 10% PCNB (pentachloronitrobenzene), a well-known contact fungicide ingredient that inhibits fungal spore germination and mycelial growth. It is highly effective against diseases like dollar spot, brown patch, leaf spot, and damping-off all of which can be devastating in turf and ornamentals.

Tools Needed

A push spreader, broadcast spreader, handheld spreader, or drop spreader can be used. 

For broadcast and band applications, apply using tractor-drawn equipment only.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the disease, apply 2 to 10 pounds of Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide per 1,000 sq. ft. of non-residential turf. To treat non-residential ornamentals, use 15 or 20 pounds of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Single applications cannot exceed 43.56 pounds per acre and the total seasonal applications must not exceed 87.12 pounds per acre.
• Step 2: Set the spreader to the proper calibration then load the proper amount of product. 
• Step 3: Spread the granules evenly across the treatment area. Be careful to avoid overlaps. After application, immediately irrigate with 1/4 inch water. For ornamentals, spread the granules evenly on the soil surface and thoroughly mix into the top 2 inches of soil. Repeat applications every 7 to 10 days during warm, damp weather.

Where to use

Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide can be used on non-residential turf (golf course tees, greens and fairways, sod farms, industrial parks, and professional and college athletic fields) and non-residential ornamentals.

When to Use

For best results use as a preventive application before diseases appear, however, if you do not apply as a preventive treatment, then apply Turfcide 10G at first sign of disease.

Safety Information

Turfcide 10G Turf and Ornamental Fungicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product. 

Do not graze treated areas or feed clippings to livestock.

Do not enter or allow others to enter treated areas until the area has been irrigated or rainfall on the day of application and the turf has dried.

Special Considerations

Do not plant root crops in PCNB treated fields within 12 months of the last application of PCNB unless PCNB is registered for use on those crops.

Use of any handheld application equipment is prohibited except for applications to growing media mix.
