Triad TZ Select Herbicide, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is an excellent selective herbicide that eliminates tough weed species in various types of turf in a fast, efficient manner.

Controls annual and perennial broadleaf weeds such as clover and nutsedge while also improving the turfs ability to withstand cool-weather.

Triad TZ Select Herbicide is a great post-emergent herbicide that provides fast and visible results without the aid of other products like surfactants.

Tools Needed

To apply Triad TZ Select Herbicide, you will to use a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or compression sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Delay mowing 2 days before and until 2 days after the application of Triad TZ Select Herbicide. Determine how much Triad TZ Select Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat cool-seasoned turf, apply 3.25 to 4 pints of Triad TZ Select Herbicide per 10-220 gallons of water per acre or 1.2 to 1.5 fl. oz. of product per 0.25- 5.0 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For dormant warm-seasoned turf applications, use 2 to 2.25 pints of product per 10-220 gallons of water per acre or 0.75 to 0.83 fl. oz. of product per 0.25- 5.0 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Broadcast applications on ornamental turfgrass, sod farms, and non-cropland, use 4.0 pints of product per 220 gallons of water per acre.
  • Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Triad TZ Select Herbicide, then fill the rest of the way with water. Agitate the tank until the solutions is completely mixed.
  • Step 3: Adjust the sprayer nozzle to deliver a fine mist of the mixed Triad TZ Select Herbicide to the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. If possible, do not irrigate or water the turfgrass within 3 to 24 hours after application.

Where to Use

Triad TZ Select Herbicide can be used in non-cropland sites, sod farms, residential/domestic sites, ornamental turf sites, institutional sites, and agricultural sites.

Do not apply this product to St. Augustinegrass, bentgrass, greens and tees, carpetgrass, dichondra, legumes, and lawns where desirable clovers are present.

When to Use

Use Triad TZ Select Herbicide when weeds are young and actively growing such as in the spring and fall. Weed control is more effective when the daytime air temperature is above 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and soil moisture is adequate.

Treated areas may be reseeded 3 weeks after application.

Do not broadcast apply this product when temperatures are above 85 degrees Fahrenheit, some injury may be expected with spot treatments when air temperatures are above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Safety Information

Triad TZ Select Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until the sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Adjuvants (Including surfactants, spreaders, spreader-stickers, spray thickeners, foaming agents, activators, detergents, and drift-reducing agents) combined with Triad TZ Select Herbicide can damage the leaf tissue of turfgrass. If any discoloration or cosmetic effects are objectionable or would be unacceptable, then adjuvant(s) combined with this product would not be advised.

Do not use adjuvants and spray additive tank-mix combinations, unless your experience indicates that the tank mixture will not result in turf injury.
