04/19/26
The Anderson's HCU 44-0-0 Humic Coated Urea, manufactured by The Anderson's, is a unique urea-humate fusion fertilizer that provides immediate plant response, improved soil health, and long-term sustainability in ways that traditional nitrogen sources can’t in turf, sod farms, landscape ornamentals, and row crops.
At its core, this product is a humic-coated nitrogen fertilizer developed with a proprietary urea-humate fusion technology. Instead of being a standard urea granule (which is common in many fertilizers), HCU is coated with potassium humate, creating a synergy between fast-acting nitrogen and soil-enhancing organic compounds. The granules are clean, spherical, free-flowing, and 100% soluble, meaning they can be applied as either a dry broadcast application or liquid spray solution.
The Anderson's HCU 44-0-0 Humic Coated Urea is an enhanced, nutrient-efficient fertilizer that feeds the plants and soil in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf, golf courses, sports fields, speciality crops, and more. By improving soil cation exchange capacity (CEC) and water-holding capacity, HCU makes nitrogen and other nutrients more available to plants. That means less waste and more growth.
Tools Needed
A rotary spreader or broadcast spreader will be needed for dry applications.
If you are planning to use this product as a spray, then you will need a backpack sprayer or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much The Anderson's HCU 44-0-0 Humic Coated Urea to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For dry broadcast applications, apply 1.70 to 3.41 pounds of The Anderson's HCU 44-0-0 Humic Coated Urea per 1,000 sq. ft. For spray applications, use 0.23 to 2.27 lbs. of product per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: For dry applications, calibrate the spreader to the proper setting, then load the correct amount of product. For sprayer usage, fill it with half the amount of water, then the product. Pour in the remaining half of the water and agitate until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the foliage leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. For granule usage, spread the granules evenly across the treatment area. After application, lightly irrigate the granules.
