The Anderson's 18-0-4 Fertilizer with 0.426 Barricade Herbicide, manufactured by the Andersons, is a dual-action pre-emergent herbicide and fertilizer blend that stops broadleaf and grassy weeds before they even sprout while also feeding the grass for a lush, healthy, vibrant lawn.

This granular product contains prodiamine, which forms a barrier in the soil to prevent weed seed germination, delivering season-long control of over 30 grassy and broadleaf weeds for cleaner, healthier turf. Powered by patented DG Technology for rapid granule dispersion and maximum soil penetration, its small particle size ensures superior coverage, making it ideal for early spring and fall applications on established turf.

The Anderson's 18-0-4 Fertilizer with 0.426 Barricade Herbicide is an effective two-in-one formula supported by a 18-0-4 fertilizer formula, pre-emergent weed control, and DG Technology for rapid granule breakdown and maximum soil contact. Whether you’re a homeowner wanting a picture-perfect lawn or a landscape professional maintaining multiple properties, this weed and feed solution offers convenience, reliability, and professional-grade performance.

Tools Needed

A handheld spreader, push spreader, or broadcast spreader will be needed for applications.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much The Anderson's 18-0-4 Fertilizer with 0.426 Barricade Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the turf, apply 3.6 to 8.1 pounds of The Anderson's 18-0-4 Fertilizer with 0.426 Barricade Herbicide per 1,000 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 352 lbs. of product per acre (8.1 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.) of this product per calendar year. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Calibrate your spreader according to the label for even application. Load the proper amount of product.
  • Step 3: Spread evenly across your turf. Water the treated area with about 0.5 inches of irrigation immediately after applying. A second application can be made when 6 to 8 weeks have passed after the application.

Where to Use

The Anderson's 18-0-4 Fertilizer with 0.426 Barricade Herbicide can be used in established turfgrasses and lawns.

Do not apply to golf course putting greens.

Do not apply this product to putting greens or areas where dichondra, colonial bentgrass, velvet bentgrass, or annual bluegrass (Poa annua) are desirable species.

When to Use

To prevent summer annual weeds in both northern and southern turf, apply in early spring before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees Fahrenheit at a 4-inch depth, stopping weed seeds from germinating.

For winter annual weeds like poa annua, apply in the fall before soil temperatures consistently drop below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, typically between mid-September and early October, depending on your region.

Do not apply to overseeded turf within 60 days after seeding or until after the second mowing, whichever is longer.
