Surrender Fire Ant Bait
Surrender Fire Ant Bait
Surrender Fire Ant Bait, manufactured by CSI, is a specially designed ant bait granule that quickly and easily kills ants and prevents their painful stings with its 90 day residual rate.
All three of its active ingredients ultimately help this product to kill the primary worker ant after it eats it, but it works slowly enough that it gives the ant enough time to share it with the rest of the colony. Over time, foraging ants will go back and pick the bait up and deliver enough of it to kill the entire ant colony and its queen within 7 days.
Surrender Fire Ant Bait is a ready to use shaker bottle offering season long control against ant populations with the added versatility of being spread as broadcast application or to treat up to 24 individual ant mounds.
Tools Needed
No additional application tools are necessary as Surrender Fire Ant Bait can be applied directly from its shaker bottle container or with a push spreader for large areas.
You may also use a tablespoon, not intended for food reuse to treat individual ant mounds.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Surrender Fire Ant Bait to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For broadcast applications, apply 0.5 oz. of Surrender Fire Ant Bait per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1.5 lbs of product per acre. For individual ant mounds, use 4 level tablespoons (0.5 oz) per mound. Up to 4 applications of this product may be applied per year.
- Step 2: While wearing gloves, twist the lid off. If you intended to use Surrender Fire Ant Bait as a broadcast application leave the tab as it. If you wish to treat individual ant mounds, remove the tab then insert the tablespoon and scrap it against the inside of the product to make it level.
- Step 3: Spread the Surrender Fire Ant Bait across the treated area until an even layer is created for broadcast applications. To treat ant mounds, distribute the product uniformly around the mound without disturbing it. Do not apply this product to the top of ant mounds. Retreat after 14 days if needed.
Where to Use
Surrender Fire Ant Bait can be used on outdoor sites such as home lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, recreational turf, non-grazed/non-crop areas, parks, cemeteries, picnic areas, uncultivated non-agricultural areas (including: airports, roadsides, highway right of ways, utility right of ways, campgrounds, and industrial sites), and institutional sites (areas around properties, structures, or facilities providing service to public or private entities including: hospitals, nursing homes, schools, universities/colleges, museums, sports facilities, and office buildings).
When to Use
Surrender Fire Ant Bait should be applied at the first sign of ant activity. Applications may be made at any time of the day, but are more effective when ants are actively foraging, usually when the soil surface temperature is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit and when rainfall is not expected to occur for 24 hours after application.
Safety Information
Surrender Fire Ant Killer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.
Do not allow unprotected workers or other persons or pets in treated area during the application.
Special Considerations
Rainfall or irrigation within 2 to 3 hours after Surrender Fire Ant Killer application may reduce the effectiveness of the product and a repeat application within 7 days may be necessary to achieve the desired level of control.
