Surepyc IQ Herbicide, manufactured by Amvac, is a powerful, professional-grade turf herbicide that delivers fast control of 70 types of sedges and broadleaf weeds in warm-season grasses perfect for golf courses, sports fields, lawns, and more.

Most herbicides rely on a single active ingredient, which means one mode of action—and often, just partial control. Surepyc IQ Herbicide takes a different approach by combining sulfentrazone (contact) and imazethapyr (systemic). Together, these two modes of action create a double knockout punch, reducing the chance of resistance and improving control across various growth stages.

Surepyc IQ Herbicide is an excellent post-emergent herbicide concentrate that achieves full weed control without damage to warm-seasoned turf due to its selective activity. Fewer applications, faster results, and broader control make this a smart financial choice for homeowners and property managers.

Tools Needed

A backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig will be needed.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Surepyc IQ Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general applications, apply 1 fl. oz. of Surepyc IQ Herbicide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. When utilizing an application rate of 1.0 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. only one application per year is allowed at that rate. If you are using 0.75 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. then two applications per year are allowed at that rate. Three applications per year are allowed at the rate of 0.5 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. The minimum application interval for turfgrass applications is 14 days.

Where to Use

Surepyc IQ Herbicide can be used in warm-season turfgrasses including Bermudagrass, Centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and Zoysiagrass.

It may be used on well-established turfgrass on grounds or lawns around residential, industrial, institutional, and commercial establishments, golf courses, athletic fields, parks, cemeteries and sod farms.

Do not use on unlabeled turfgrass species, including Kentucky bluegrass, annual bluegrass, rough bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, fine fescues, tall fescue, creeping bentgrass, colonial bentgrass, velvet bentgrass, buffalograss, bahiagrass, and dichondra, or in mixed stands containing these species.

When to Use

Apply on well-established non-stressed turfgrass with a dense and uniform stand, and when weeds are present.

Avoid applications if rainfall is expected to occur within 48 hours of application.
