Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS, manufactured by Summit Chemical, is a flexible liquid spray insecticide that provides a residual barrier for up to 4 weeks from mosquitoes, gnats, and other common nuisance pests.

This product is formulated with the active ingredient permethrin 2.5%, which helps to repel mosquitoes and other pests from resting on vertical surfaces such as homes or foliage. When pests come into contact with this solution they will have muscle spasms, paralysis, and then death.

Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS is an ideal insecticide that repels outdoor pests from your backyard and around your home by simply attaching to a garden hose.

Tools Needed

Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS is a ready to use product that simply needs to be attached to a garden hose. You will need the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, mask, safety googles, long-sleeve shirt, long-sleeve pants, coveralls or Tyvek suit, and closed-toe shoes with socks.

This product is not for use in outdoor residential misting systems.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. Do this by measuring the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). One bottle of Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS can cover up to 10,000 sq. ft. Make sure knob is twisted fully to off position and shake well before attaching to garden hose. Attach garden hose to spray nozzle of product and turn on water supply.
• Step 2: Bend safety tab down and turn control knob to water avoid squeezing the bottle. Only clear water will spray when water is turned on. Point Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS nozzle towards the area to be treated and turn the control knob to on to automatically mix the product with water. Spray until leaves are wet to the point of run-off. Spray building surfaces to a maximum height of 3 feet. Once the spray has dried on plant surfaces, you can then lightly water.
• Step 3: When finished spraying turn knob to off/closed position. For heavy infestations repeat application after 2 weeks.

Where to Use

Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS can be used to treat lawns (containing Bent, Bermuda, bluegrass, dichondra, fescue, Irish moss, Merion, St. Augustin), shrubs, trees, Arizona cypress, azalea, birch, non-bearing citrus, conifers, elm, English ivy, euonymus, weeping fig, fir, poinsettia, tulip popular, rhododendron, Taxus, cherry, honeysuckle, conifers, Douglas and Grand Firs, Oak, Pine, around door and window frames, porches, screens, eaves, patios, garages, refuse dumps, light fixtures on porches, or where insects may land or congregate around the home.

When to Use

Use Summit Mosquito and Gnat Barrier RTS when pests activity is beginning and in the late afternoon and evening when pest activity is low. Applications should be done on calm, warm days when rainfall is not forecasted for 24 hours after application.

Remove pets, adults, and children from the area before spraying and wait until spray has dried on plant and building surfaces before allowing them to enter the treated areas.

Special Considerations

All outdoor applications to impervious surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, porches, and structural surfaces (such as windows, doors, and eaves) are limited to spot and crack-and-crevice applications.
