Summit Mosquito Dunks, manufactured by Summit Chemical, is a slow release larvicide that will put an end to various species of mosquito larvae in standing water surfaces before they become breeding adult mosquitoes.

In the form of a dunk, this product will slowly dissolve in water to release the active ingredient BTI (bacillus thuringienis) 10.31% where it will eventually settle and be ingested by present mosquito larvae. Each dunk will cover 100 sq. ft. of water, regardless of the depth.

Summit Mosquito Dunks is a natural occurring bacterium product that can safely eliminate mosquito larvae without harming animals or becoming ineffective due to dryness.

Tools Needed

Summit Mosquito Dunks comes ready to use with no other tools necessary for application. You will need to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves when handling this product.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Summit Mosquito Dunk to use by measuring the surface area of the standing water sites to treat. To find this square footage, you will need to measure the length and width of the water surface in feet and multiply together (length X width = square footage). Use 1 Summit Mosquito Dunk per 100 sq. ft. of water surface. For smaller areas, break the Summit Mosquito Dunk into portions. The application rate for 1 to 5 sq. ft. is 1/4 dunk, 5 to 25 sq. ft. is 1/2 dunk, 25 to 100 sq. ft. is 1 dunk, and for surface water areas above 100 sq. ft. use 1 dunk per 100 sq. ft.
• Step 2: With a gloved hand, open the Summit Mosquito Dunks from the tray and drop the appropriate amount of product onto the water surface. For larger bodies of water, you will need to place a string or stake in the middle to prevent drift.
• Step 3: Allow at least 48 hours to pass before reapplying Summit Mosquito Dunk if driftage or loss of product occurs. Retreat approved water sources as needed or when residual of 30 days have passed.

Where to Use

Summit Mosquito Dunks may be used in all types of containerized standing water sites, except finished, treated drinking water. This product can also be used in areas outside the home containing standing water such as bird baths, flower pots, tree holes, old automobile tires, unused swimming pools, rain barrels, roof gutters, animal watering troughs, water gardens.

You may treat indoors areas that collects water from time to time, elevator shafts, basements that flood, sump pumps, and any drainage areas within buildings.

When to Use

Use Summit Mosquito Dunks when mosquito activity is beginning and as a preventative against their activity. For best results, apply this product after rainfall, early spring, and early summer as this is when eggs are initially laid.

Special Considerations
