Stealth Herbicide is manufactured by Loveland Products and is a quality pre-emergent herbicide that is safe to use on most crops. Stealth will control most annual grasses, and a wide variety of broadleaf weeds, while not harming crop plants and keeping their yields safe for consumption. Stealth is intended to be soil-applied before planting crops, to prevent weeds and grasses from ever-growing in the desired areas.

Tools Needed

To use Stealth Herbicide, you will need a broadcast power sprayer or pesticide spraying rig for large volume applications.

Spray Rig Application of Stealth

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Stealth Herbicide you will need by calculating the square footage or acreage of the application site. To do this, measure (in feet) the area length and width and multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). To get acreage, take the calculated square footage and divide by 43,560 (square footage/43,560 = acreage). It is also important to know what application you intend to use, as the mix rates vary depending on the application type, the texture of the soil and what crop you are applying the Stealth Herbicide to. In general, the rate can vary from 1.2 to 4.8 pts. per acre in at least 10 gallons of water or more.
  • Step 2: Fill your spray tank with half the amount of water or liquid fertilizer you will be using then add the appropriate amount of Stealth Herbicide to the tank. While agitating the tank, fill with the remaining half of water or liquid fertilizer and any additional additives then thoroughly agitate until well mixed.
  • Step 3: Apply the product throughout the predetermined area, ensure even distribution of the chemical throughout the soil. To ensure Stealth is the most effective as possible, it may be necessary to irrigate the area after application if adequate rainfall cannot be relied upon.
  • Step 4: Allow the area to dry and soak into the soil. Keep pets and people off the treated areas until the product has completely dried.
  • Step 5: Refer to the label for the proper timetable on when crops can be planted in the area after treatment. Certain crops may be able to be planted sooner than others, and rainfall and irrigation can also change the amount of time needed, so it is important to read the label for your specific plant type.

Where to Use

Crop Field spraying with Stealth Herbicide

Apply Stealth Herbicide outdoors over croplands and desired areas. It can be used in alfalfa (forage, hay or seed production, bearing citrus fruit trees, bearing nut trees, bearing pome fruit trees, bearing stone fruit trees, carrots, corn, cotton, edible beans, forage legumes, fruiting vegetables, garlic, grain sorghum, leek, lentils, mint, onion and shallots, nonbearing fruit and nut trees, peanuts, potatoes, rice, soybeans, strawberry, sugarcane, sunflowers, tobacco, and wheat. It may be necessary to maintain a barrier of 200 feet away from undesired plants, so as not to harm surrounding plant life. Refer to the label for proper application distance and procedures to protect untreated areas from exposure.

When to Use

Stealth Herbicide is intended as a pre-emergent herbicide. This means it needs to be applied to the desired area before the weebs have emerged, or during the germinating season. Stealth will not kill weeds that have emerged or are established, so it may be necessary to mix Stealth with another herbicide or remove the emerged weeds before application. Stealth needs to be applied before the crops are planted, and may require some time before the crop can be planted after application. Check the label for your specific plant type, and plan in advance how much time will be needed before the crops can be planted.

Safety Information

Stealth Herbicide is safe to use when applied according to label directions. It is necessary to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) anytime you handle the chemical, mix the chemical, or handle or use any equipment involved with the application of Stealth. Thoroughly wash all equipment after use. Some environmental precautions may be necessary before application, so refer to the label for proper buffer zone and application safety procedures. Keep all pets and people out of the treated areas until they have completely dried.

Special Considerations

Stealth Herbicide will not kill weeds that have emerged or are established. It may be necessary to mix Stealth with a post-emergent herbicide or remove the weeds prior to treatment. Stealth is safe to use on most crops, but it is still necessary to read the label for your specific crop type before application, as certain time tables or application methods may differ depending on the crop.
