Stature SC Fungicide, manufactured by BASF, is an effective preventative fungicide for the control of phytophthora and downy mildew diseases on ornamentals grown in greenhouses, shadehouses, and conifer seedling nurseries.
This product is the new flowable formulation of dimethomorph 43.5%, the active ingredient delivers exceptional control over foliar and root diseases within 2 weeks.
Stature SC Fungicide controls all stages of disease activity except the zoospore formation/motility, but once applied this product will work to protect the ornamental from the root up for up to 4 weeks.
Tools Needed
To apply Stature SC Fungicide, you will need a handheld pump sprayer, hydroponic system, or chemigation system.
Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Avoid watering the plant for several hours before application of Stature SC Fungicide. Determine how much Stature SC Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat ornamentals grown in greenhouses, outdoor nurseries, and field, including conifer nursery seedlings use 6.12 to 12.25 fl. oz. of Stature SC Fungicide per 100 gallons of water as a foliar spray to get rid of downy mildew. To get rid of phytophthora root, crown, and stem rot on greenhouse-grown ornamentals, herbaceous perennial and annual plants apply 3.06 to 6.12 fl. oz. of product per 50 to 100 gallons of water. Do not exceed 30.6 fl. oz. of product per acre per crop per year for-outdoor grown ornamentals. Do not make more than 8 applications of product per crop per season for greenhouse-grown ornamentals. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: To mix, you will need to pour half the amount of water into your sprayer. Next, add the measured amount of Stature SC Fungicide then pour the remaining half of water into the tank. Close the spray tank and shake until the solution is evenly-mixed.
- Step 3: Thoroughly spray the mixed Stature SC Fungicide solution on plant crown, plant stem, and the root zone around the plant until runoff. For bed-grown ornamentals, make applications as broadcast spray, or saturate the top layer of soil.
Where to Use
Apply Stature SC Fungicide to greenhouse and nursery-grown ornamental plants, including conifer nursery seedlings.
Do not use on crops intended for food or feed use.
This product cannot be applied to vegetables grown in greenhouses for crop production or in vegetable production of transplants for outdoor use.
When to Use
Use Stature SC Fungicide when listed plants are well-established or at the first sign of disease.
Safety Information
Stature SC Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.
Special Considerations
Rainfall or any overhead irrigation within 1 hour of Stature SC Fungicide application may need to be retreated.
