Starbar Exhalt WDG Insect Growth Regulator, manufactured by Starbar Products, is a specialized insect growth regulator insecticide that disrupts insect development to prevent reproduction, providing long-lasting, effective control.

This water dispersable granule insect growth regulator has a dual mode of application. It can be applied as a dry granule or dissolved in water for a coarse spray. This flexibility lets you choose based on the target area: granular in thick manure zones, spray for broader surface coverage. When insects like flies or darkling beetles are exposed to the active ingredient Novaluron, their larvae can’t molt, pupate, or reach adulthood, effectively stopping the cycle right in its tracks.

Tools Needed

For dry granular applications, you will need a hand or mechanized spreader. 

For coarse spray applications, use a backpack sprayer. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Starbar Exhalt WDG Insect Growth Regulator to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For livestock facilities and other uses, apply 1/2 pound of Starbar Exhalt WDG Insect Growth Regulator per 1,000 sq. ft. For spray applications, use 1 to 20 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To make applications in and around livestock facilities and other uses, apply 1 to 4 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. For spray applications, mix 1 to 20 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: To make dry granular applications, calibrate your spreader to the proper setting then load the needed amount of product. For spray applications, you will want to pour in half the amount of water. Next, add in the proper amount of product and the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed. 
• Step 3: Apply as a coarse spray directly and evenly over all surfaces. For granule use, the product can be scattered dry, but do not allow it to form piles. After application, lightly water the granules. For perimeter applications, apply in a band 2 to 4 feet adjacent to and around the structure and to a height of 2 to 3 feet on the foundation. 

Where to Use

Starbar Exhalt WDG Insect Growth Regulator can be used in manure, and other breeding sites in cattle barns, swine houses, horse barns, incinerators, livestock manure, livestock premises, non-farm animal stalls, poultry buildings, cage-layer houses, poultry houses, and refuse storage areas. 

When to Use

Apply at the first sign of pest activity. You can also use it when you notice pests are still active after applying other adulticide insecticides.
