How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Southern Ag 10-10-10 All Purpose Fertilizer to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Determine the diameter of your tree trunk at diameter breast height (DBH). To do this, begin by measuring 4.5 feet above the ground level. Hold the ruler or tape measurer against the tree then wrap it around the complete middle of the tree at the DBH and record your findings. The following rates are for all states EXCEPT Florida. For vegetable gardens, apply 1 cup (approximately 1/2 lb) of Southern Ag 10-10-10 All Purpose Fertilizer per 50 linear feet of row or 1 cup per 50 sq. ft. Use half rate for younger vegetable plants. For established citrus trees, use 1 cup of product per foot of tree canopy. To treat younger citrus trees or citrus transplants, apply 1/2 cup of product. Example: A 10' diameter tree canopy would need 10 cups of of this product, or the entire 5 lb bag of this product. For flower beds, use 1 cup of product per 50 sq. ft. Use half rate for younger flower bed plants. To treat roses and large shrubs, apply 1/2 cup of product per 4 foot of height. For mature apples, pears, peaches, and plum trees, use 1 cup (approx. 1/2 lb) of product per inch of tree diameter, up to 6" diameter trees. Do not exceed 15 lbs of product per tree. For trees, apply 1 cup (approx. 1/2 lb) of product under tree canopy for every inch of trunk diameter. Do not use more than 5 cups of product per tree per application for trees. Refer to the label for specific application rates in regards to the state of Florida.
  • Step 2: If you are using a type of spreader then calibrate it to the proper setting. After it has been adjusted load it with the proper amount of the Southern Ag 10-10-10 All Purpose Fertilizer.
  • Step 3: Evenly distribute the Southern Ag 10-10-10 All Purpose Fertilizer to the soil of vegetable gardens, flower beds, roses, large shrubs, but do not contact stems or leaves of plants. Distribute the product evenly underneath tree canopies. After applying, rinse foliage and water plants well. Repeat monthly or as needed for vegetable gardens.
